Dove Lake

For breathtaking views of Cradle Mountain, wander around Dove Lake. The glacier-sculpted peak is almost always visible as you walk along the icy water's edge. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wallabies, pademelons, and platypuses. If you're lucky, you might even see some Tasmanian devils!

Such a beautiful place, so full of natural beauty.

Such a beautiful place, so full of natural beauty. I'm just disappointed I wasn't well enough to walk further than the beginning of the lake. Plenty of short walks and longer ones if you want to or are up to walking (sadly, I was not).

The wooden boat house, on all the brochures is around the first bend over the hill. So keep walking for about 10 minutes and it will come into view! The stream runs to the west of the visitor centre along the walkway and is worth a visit just to sit, listen and ponder.

Brilliant, easy walk, very leisurely stroll taking photos soaking it all in. The weather is hugely changeable so pack for rain, wind etc Take a packed lunch and water for a picnic Every time you turn around the sun hits another spot and lights up an area, scenery is constantly changing with clouds etc - magnificent The National Parks deserve huge credit for their organisation of transport and the pathways etc, great design to keep people from doing extra damage traipsing where they should not be
