New Cathedral
It’s called the New Cathedral, but it’s not that new. Building started in 1513 and finished in 1733 for this beauty. The most famous bit of the cathedral does have modern origins, however. Look closely at the façade and you’ll see an astronaut carved into the stone, as well as a faun eating an ice cream! Maybe it does live up to its name after all.

We enjoyed our house tour of Muckross House.
We enjoyed our house tour of Muckross House. I loved the big kitchen and the rose garden.
It was a house which lived up to expectation of its age and status.
The extensive gardens leading down to the lake were beautiful.

Beautiful.
Beautiful. Amazing to keep it as pristine as it was when the Queen visited many years ago. Furniture was beautiful. Character was stellar. Worth the walk and time spent. Tour guide was knowledgeable and interested in the magnificent mansion and the history about it’s former owners.

Location is splendid. Hotel in great place, away from the busy city centre but still not very far away from. Located close to the lake and the main Killarney attraction, the Muckross house and park.
Top class restaurant with delicious food. Great Spa and pool facilities.
EV charger nearby as a bonus.
Location was fantastic for a relaxing break away and exploring Torc Waterfall & Muckross House. Plenty of outdoor space which would be beautiful on a summers day. Highly recommend for large families or group of friends. Kitchen was fully equipped which allowed us to cook 2 nights for a group of 6.
The location was fabulous, right in town. The Atlantic Seafood Chowder was the best I have had. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were clean and lovely. People in the pub often broke into song. It was a short walk to catch the red hop on hop off bus to Ross Castle, Muckross House and Torc Waterfall.
Location was perfect, great for exploring the park, lakes and grounds of Muckross House. Walking distance (15-20mins) from the Muckross Hotel & Spa and their gastro pub (excellent pub grub). Friendly hosts and very comfortable rooms. Will visit again.
Wonderful rural setting but still close to Muckross House and conveniently located for the rest of Killarney National Park. Our kids loved playing in the field around the house (away from the horses) and there were also puppies and kittens while we were there. We stayed for 3 nights and it was a great base for us.
Perfect accommodation to explore Killarney. Stayed there for two nights. Rooms were comfortable and decent in size. About a 5 minute walk to the main city center which has amazing restaurants and bars, which was perfect as it was close enough to walk, but far enough to ensure it's quiet.
It is about a 15 minute drive to Muckross house. We had a car, so it was convenient to explore Killarney national park and drive around through the gap of Dunloe. The breakfast was great as well, with decent options for a bread and breakfast.
We had such a lovely stay at this B&B! The host couple is really welcoming as is the whole place. Excellent breakfast, the view is awesome and also a nice starting point for a lot of different trips, as if the Ring of Kerry, Muckross House or Dingle. If you don't know what to do, just ask them. We would absolutely recommend this B&B and would come back anytime.
Perfect stay for area access. Accommodating staff especially for late arrival at 9:30pm. Huge breakfast and we wanted to just sit and enjoy the facility but needed to get out and sight-see. Clean, comfortable and safe. We stayed 3 nights and spent one day around Ring of Kerry, one day Dingle peninsula. Muckross house highly recommended. I would extend our stay in area at least one more night and it be at Abbey Lodge
