Several shops have closed/changed. A sign of the times.
Several shops have closed/changed. A sign of the times. Our vist to Carmel always starts with dinner at A. W. Shucks. We sit at the bar across from the chef's station and watch them prepare meals. These are the hardest working cooks we have seen. Our Carmel trip always starts with a cadillac margarita, crab cakes, BBQ oysters and a shrimp salad. A great start at one of our favorite vacations destinations.

It's a beautiful plaza with a good selection of wine tasting...
It's a beautiful plaza with a good selection of wine tasting rooms. Our favorite is the Wrath tasting room and cheese from the Cheese shop. We always pick a few cheeses and take them to Wrath to enjoy during our tasting. The staff at both are excellent.

Completely entertaining and fun walking around there. I could only afford a sandwich, coffee, and some chocolate. Others with better pockets could afford the boutiques and artwork. I'm not in that category. I will say that there is something for everyone there and that's American and fair.

- From $170.18 per night7.6Scored 7.6GoodRated good· 1,356 reviewsThis place was amazing, I would definitely stay here again. the bed was super comfortable, the little cabin has its own dedicated driveway (you could probably fit 2 cars length wise at least for cabin 121 where we stayed) and we had a fireplace!!!! the thermostat for the heater was behind the TV (not obvious). it’s a half mile walk to Carmel plaza so very convenient for the Big Sur marathon pickup. staff was nice even though we checked in right before they closed the office.
