Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum was fabulous; a chance to wander around a village of bygone days. And plenty of displays. Being school holidays, there was a puppet making and woodworking workshop which was fabulous. Very steep though so not ideal for those with mobility aids. Great gift shop and Beaches Cafe is attached with quality food and excellent service. Plenty of shopping for those that need it. Port of Warrnambool and beaches to see (just not when we were there due to the bad weather!) Port Fairy is just a 20 minutes drive away with a great little bakery for lunch - Cobb’s Bakery - and Tower Hill to see koalas in their natural habitat. The Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground is a hit with the kids; so much equipment to play on and things to do, including mini golf. Macs Hotel / Macey’s Bistro has excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. Lots of different types of accommodation to choose from for all types of travel groups of people in all price ranges. A great place for a relaxing break anytime of year.Guest review byStephen NorgateAustralia - 8.0
Apollo Bay in the winter is quieter, which is lovely.
Apollo Bay in the winter is quieter, which is lovely. Lots to do and see nearby. Like anywhere on the Great Ocean Road, it is busy, lots of tourists and expensive, which make it unbearable in the summer. It has the best of everything - beautiful coastline, views, rolling hills, and forest. Like all good coastal town, it is growing up and becoming developed which definitely spoils the charm it held 50 years ago, but such is life.Guest review bySarahAustralia - 10.0

We were travelling the Great Ocean Road and stopped here for one night as was convenient for sightseeing. We were lucky with the weather so made driving easy. It is a small town and we sat by the beach to eat fish and chips for lunch and cooked our own dinner at night.Guest review byNeilAustralia - 10.0
I love Lorne in all seasons.
I love Lorne in all seasons. The beach is great in warmer months and the forests are great all year round. Plenty of walks, lots of good cafes and restaurants, the newly renovated Grand Pacific Hotel is insane. It's a sleepy town in Winter, but I like that very much - it's so cosy, lots of places have fireplaces. I love Lorne.Guest review byMelsAustralia - 10.0
love Torquay.
love Torquay. It's not only a surfer's paradise, it's also a fabulous getaway... Beach is peaceful and clean, plenty of cafes and restaurants - (especially loved Salty Dog Cafe, iL Matto Italian Restaurant and Squires Loft)... It's also dog friendly which is a major bonus...Guest review byKerriAustralia - 8.0

Visited Griffith Island and lighthouse. Ate at an Italian restaurant, great for coeliacs, and their homemade pasta was delicious. We walked to all the shops and restaurants, but drove further afield.Guest review byLesleeAustralia - 10.0
We had a relaxing family holiday at Anglesea.
We had a relaxing family holiday at Anglesea. The location of the holiday park right next to the beach and river meant we barely had to get in the car. It’s an excellent location for kids with many different activities. The beds in the cabins were so comfortable too!Guest review bySarahAustralia - 8.0

It was a lovely quiet place with good clean comfortable accommodation. Our hosts looked after us very well . We had a good choice for breakfast. The only downside was after a day’s travel there was no where near to go to eat .Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Love the holiday feel of Aireys and the facilities like the lighthouse, viewing spots and the café there, and track walks there and the pub. Village cafes and store perfect and the market in school grounds was superb! Everyone very friendly.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was one of the most beautiful and unusual locations I have stayed in. You won't find modern conveniences, which would ruin the authenticity of the experience. The beds are wonderful, the bathroom beautiful and the scenery is outstanding. If you have an artistic soul this property is for you. There are plenty of DVD's and games but the true entertainment is the surroundings, the serenity and the quiet. Don't miss the opportunity to remove yourself from the modern world and enjoy the views.Guest review bySamantha
