Also, in this time of the year, it is good to book for a longer time, - we did 6 nights-, and combine it with some remote working, as the accommodation is super comfortable, even when the sun does not shine in late October!

CanadaWe stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect place to explore parts of the RheinSteig hiking trail and surrounding villages. The hotel was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast. Frau Maas was a wonderful and caring host. She personally served breakfast and made sure her guests were comfortable. We would definitely come back here.

A Wine Region of Imperial Fame
A beautiful German wine district punctuated by medieval castles, the Mosel centres on the meandering Moselle River between Koblenz and the Luxembourg border. The most famous wine produced here is the crisp Riesling, and many vineyards are picturesquely located on the steep banks of the river.
The Mosel hotels, guest houses and apartments on Booking.com are spread all over this fantastic region, with many set right by the river and offering spectacular views of the lush scenery. Each town and village has its own characteristics and there are wine tours and tastings galore to be enjoyed.
There are too many Mosel Valley attractions to list them all, but highlights include Alken castle, set high on a hill overlooking the riverside village below. One of the most spectacularly located castles is at Cochem on a lush hill by a bend in the river, while Bernkastel-Kues has a stunning medieval core with brightly painted half-timbered houses.
This tranquil area has been prized since Roman times and nowhere is this more evident than in wonderful Trier. Along with ruins of 3 Roman baths and an amphitheatre, the Porta Nigra and a bridge from the imperial era still stand and Emperor Constantine’s old throne room is now a basilica.

This is a very nice hotel in the outstanding nature surroundings of Mosel River and vineries. Despite the early and quiet season, the hotel was full of travelers. We were lucky to get a river view room.
It was spacious enough for a couple with a nice sitting area both inside the room and on the balcony.
The room was warm, and we turned the heating off during the night, which is not typical for Europe 🙂.
The room was fresh renovated with a non-typical toilet/shower room door , which is not fully a door. However, it was totally fine for us.
The shower itself was well maintained and clean.
The sauna was hot 🔥 which was good, but the swimming pool area was crowded.
Visitors occupied all the sitting and laying places, with rare practice for sauna or the swinning pool, maybe due to rain outside.
There were complaints of other tourists on the bad internet in the hotel. I can say the signal is available in every area, but you can't do much with it. Neither with wifi or mobile networks. On the other hand you get plenty of time for yourself and sightseeing.
Keep in mind you better reserve the table for a dinner in advance due to multiple bookings from outside the hotel. But one of their restaurants is a Michelene award winner 2019 and it was fully by the time we checked in. ✔️

Fantastic hotel! Breakfast options were plentiful with eggs made to order. We stayed in the Lifestyle Suite which was huge with lost of space for our dog to move around in and clean with a good modern feel. It was quiet in the evenings and had a mini fridge in it with a few items to buy. The location was great also with the Mosel being a few feet away. We didn't eat dinner there, but the small bar was great and the bartender (curly reddish/brown hair) was really nice and made outstanding cocktails. Small parking lot, but we found a spot to park our car. Would definitely recommend the place and stay there again.

A very pleasant and interesting experience in Trier...like a travel in a timecapsule back into the past. The Porta Nigra was not build in one day, but the Romans were the big influencer. Welterbe, Wein und Wissen like Gladiatoren, Geister und Geheimnisse I think says it all. Trier is the oldest city in Germany and the most well rounded, in all catagories. I would always take time out of my schedule to take a detour to visitTrier again:-)

Cochem itself is a very small town and 1 morning is enough to explore. There's obviously beautiful countryside and activities nearby. The town has a very touristy feel to it and the shops and bars sometimes reflect that a little too much unfortunately. Saying that there are some lovely spots and it's worth a visit.

Extremely pleasant olde world small town on the meandering River Mosel. Surrounded by vineyards. Good location for sightseeing surrounding valleys and villages.
Lots of unending cycle paths and hiking opportunities galore.
Thermal Baths and Go-Karting in neighbouring villages within 25 minutes drive away by car.

I have been to Traben-Trabach many times before, I have always like the area and the great wine. This was my first visit during the winter, and a lot of the places were closed which is what I expected. On the plus side there were no crowds at all...

Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks.
In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you.
Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.

Zell is a charming village right on the Moselle River.
Zell is a charming village right on the Moselle River. We enjoyed sitting by the river watching the barges and ships. The town is very walkable, and there is frequent bus service to the nearest train station of Bullay. This is a wine town; if you like Riesling, you are in the right place!

3 generations of one family (and a dog) – spent here 2 nights in May, 2024. This house is a very good place for family vacation: 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with a dinner table, a living room and 2 good bathrooms. Pet-friendly – this is fortunately typical for Germany. Distances: ~ 100m from Mosel. ~ 1.3 km to Edeka supermarket, ~ 7 km to Cochem center. There are also 2 minor “cons”: no dishwash machine and no Mosel view. Friendly host. Recommended for family vacation.

Trittenheim is a charming and peaceful Mosel village, perfect for relaxing and exploring the region. It's an excellent base for visiting Trier, Bernkastel-Kues, the Ruwer Valley, and the Volcanic Eifel. There are numerous excellent wineries, beautiful riverside walks, and scenic cycling routes, making it an ideal destination for wine lovers and nature enthusiasts. We've visited twice, and both times our stay coincided with local wine festivals, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable.

Hotel was ok, but not as expected and described.
Hotel was ok, but not as expected and described. The big terras was not there. It was just part of the hotel restaurant where the windows could be opened. Between the Moesel and the hotel was a very busy road.
Hotelbar was not as described as well. Not a place to dance or relax. There were also no parking lots. You had to park your car across the street.
Breakfast was ok, all what you needed, but very busy and not very special.
Personeel was ok, not great. Just doing their work.
Room was very small and dusty.
So, hotel was ok to stay for the night, but not great and special as described here at booking.com
