FAQs about hotels in Majorca
As lively or relaxed as you want
A firm favorite among sun-seekers, Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest Balearic Island. Palma, the enchanting capital, has a grand cathedral overlooking the harbor, a 14th-century castle and Arab baths, to name just a few highlights. Nearby is Palma Nova, home to lots of Majorca hotels on the beach within easy reach of the fantastic nightlife in Magaluf. Further along are calmer Santa Ponsa and Port d’Andratx. In the opposite direction, S’Arenal has a fantastic, palm-lined beach and quick airport shuttle rides. On the north side of the island, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana range features amazing mountain lakes. A trip to its highest peak, Puig Major, will provide breathtaking views. Down below is Port de Soller, a lovely town with some excellent Majorca hotels for families. Other popular family resorts include Alcudia with its long sandy beach, and neighboring Port de Pollenca. Ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia are nearby. In the east, Cala Ratjada benefits from 2 beautiful coastlines, while the beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor certainly live up to their names – Good and Best. Cala d’Or (Golden Cove) is another aptly named resort: its golden, sandy beach is nestled between rocks lapped by turquoise waters. Whether you’re looking for hotels, B&Bs or apartments in Majorca, Booking.com is sure to have something to suit.

N.B Booking .com's taxi company did not get me back to Palma Airport in time - I missed my flight back to Guernsey,( July 8th) Had lovely trip by coach to Formentor, Alcudia which was great- to be recommended Mainly spent time in hotel around the pool. I walk with a stick, Managed to get to Be Live restaurants nearby Masai and Portobello were excellent- lovely food - tiramisu and apple tarte tatin to die for!Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Didn’t research the location and it wasn’t for us!
Didn’t research the location and it wasn’t for us! It is not really Spain, but Germany - which is fine if that’s what you are after. The whole place was full of large groups of mostly men in football kits and the chanting was constant so it was like staying in a football stadium. We were right in the middle of the action so not the peaceful break we had anticipated. Fun to see people having a good time but it was soo noisy 24/7 Luckily bus was only 2 euros and frequent so escaped to palma every dayGuest review bysarahUnited Kingdom - 2.0

There’s no security at this place at all. I had to leave the very first morning because 2 guys were knocking on my door and balcony door trying to gain access. The property didn’t do anything about it. Very scary situationGuest review byANTONIOBrazil - 4.0

Unfriendly vibe from locals....mushrooms prefer Asia where you are welcome. I went fir a family wedding, would not go for a holiday. Locals gave had enough of tourism, visitors and the Spanish authorities need to listen.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Very easy to get access from the airport with public transport. The area is clean and tidy. Beach is stunning. We enjoy walking and it’s great for that. Nice and flat! Lots of really nice places to eat and drink.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 6.0
It really depends what you want from your vacation.
It really depends what you want from your vacation. I would stay again, but now I know what to expect. It doesn’t have that “local” feel, it is much more touristic. But it’s a good and affordable base to explore other areas of Mallorca. I would definitely recommend for families and also for people who enjoy night live. If you’re not too fussed by the surroundings and just want an area to sleep, but venture to other places, then this is also definitely a good areaGuest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Typical Spanish tourist town.
Typical Spanish tourist town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, some with live music. Would of like it to be a bit more boutique'y and a little less Spanish/British bucket and spade. So not a lot to see, unless you like these very typical Spanish beach resorts. But overall good for a short break.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Cala D’Or is super for families, lots of restaurants for all tastes, great little shops for kids. Port area is really beautiful to stroll around. Gorgeous restaurants and much quieter than the centre. Trying to find parking can be difficult. Highly recommend Cala D’Or and have been going there for a number of years. Beaches are gorgeous and sea water warm and inviting.Guest review byConorIreland - 10.0
This is a lovely resort.
This is a lovely resort. It is based around a beautiful harbour and bay. There is a promenade by the sea lined with great restaurants, so it's wonderful just to take a stroll there and equally wonderful to sit at one of the restaurants looking at the view. There are very good shops and a market on Saturdays with plenty to see around the town. Further on there are beaches too with lovely, clear water and facilities for children. You can take a boat trip to Cala Millor or buses to various places, including Alcudia and Palma.Guest review bySheilaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Paguera is one of the best locations, but be aware:
Paguera is one of the best locations, but be aware: This year we got targeted by the police in a clear abuse of power scenario. The police forced us to pay on the spot 100 euro in cash or tow the car away. They don’t use a camera to prove their claim, so it’s a ‘hear say’ case. Especially when you have luggage and limited time, one has to pay on the spot to be left alone and not destroy the vacation. We let them drive ahead of us afterwards, and we noticed the same 4 police cars stopped on a parallel road between Paguera and Palmanova and hanging out. They were clearly on a hunting spree and praying on tourists. The incident started with us noticing the police car behind us, but since we were way under the speed limit we didn’t think of anything. Until they stopped us on the main boulevard for ‘not stopping to allow people to cross the street’, which was a plain blatant lie. I asked for proof, and they said ‘they have eyes’. I was also told by a local friend that if you try to fight the ticket in court, the ‘police eyes’ weigh more than the ‘tourist’s eyes’ and I would loose. For years, we’ve been noticing that the locals drive aggressively since they know the roads and are perhaps annoyed by the slower cars driven by tourists. But the tourists bring the money to the island, don’t we? Abusing the power and targeting the tourists for easy cash is not the way to attract tourists. That was one low point that we experienced in the almost 20 years we’ve been visiting Paguera. Shame to the politicians for allowing the police to psychologically violate the rights of the tourists! (we were told by the cop that we have to sign the ticket on the spot, which implies one agrees with what the police did).Guest review byRoxanaUnited States
