"It's a vibrant city. I wandered around the old town, which has a lot of stores and restaurants. There are a lot of young people because it's a university town. I especially enjoyed city at a café in the Place de la Comedie and watching the people. I recommend."

"This is the most complete representation of a fortified medieval city with castle that I have ever seen from my travels in France, Germany, Austria, and Italy. The restoration here is absolutely incredible and I highly recommend a visit. The surrounding area is also interesting. We took a day trip to Minerve which was also really cool. There are lots of things to explore in the area beyond the medieval part of Carcassonne including wineries, quaint towns, the canal du midi, cathedrals/chapels (of course). The local tourism board has done a nice job of highlighting all of the things available in the area including suggested road trips of 1-3 hours."

"Lovely quaint little streets to wonder round. Main esplanades up to fountain and Roman remains was a surprise. Colosseum is amazing. Views from the top of gardens are fantastic. Plenty of places to choose from to eat, but have to time it right or you can’t get in for the locals. Many restaurants you need to book."

"Beziers is a lovely, picturesque and laidback city. We went in April and the weather was beautiful but very few tourists around. We stayed in the heart of the old city but it is quite compact anyway - the shuttle from the airport drops you at the train station which is only a walk through a park to the city centre. Once in the old city, the main sites are within 10 mins walk of each other. We had an apartment so cooked for ourselves some nights (we stayed near the market hall) and ate out on others. We would thoroughly recommend Maison Carne (they only serve Cote de Boeuf to share) and a Quebecoise place called the Rooster Cook specialising in poutine. The Fonseranes 9 locks is a 30 minute walk from the old city and really gets you out into the countryside. It isn't a very touristy city (very few English menus!) but we loved it for that."

I can't even imagine the difficult parking situation! I loved walking along the quieter areas like the port and along the waterfront. The Musee Paul Valery was fabulous!"

I spent an incredible 5 nights at this wonderful location. The staff were exceptional, friendly, helpful, punctual and the service was exemplary. Breakfast every morning with your cafe au lait made to order is a great way to start the day. The location is excellent, walkable to everything, The decor is gentle and understated, situated in a beautiful ancient building. Onsite parking - make sure to ask ahead of arrival. The room was large and very comfortable. I was able to meet the owner, and all the staff at their monthly artist reception which was quite a fun treat. I highly recommend for solo, couples, families and will return. Special thanks to Olivia, Victoria, Aman and all the staff who made my stay so memorable.

Carcassonne has become one of my favourite places of all time! It is magical inside the medieval city! The only other place I’ve ever felt like I was in fairy tale was Venice! It’s just unique! I will definitely return soon but for longer! Handy tip it’s a long steep walk from the the newer city!!! Lots of restaurants we went to Le Saint Jean it was great lovely food and great views.

We moved to Montpellier and were using Booking.com while looking for our long-term apartment. We love the city, the people, the vibe and the weather. The city is extremely easy to get around - it is very walkable and, for getting further out, the tram/bus system are fantastic! The only real issue we've seen is an increase in homeless lately. Unfortunately, this is a growing problem in a lot of cities and Montpellier is not immune to it. Having said that, Montpellier is still a very safe city and we love it here.

July music festivals interfered with access to the Amphitheatre, and the Jardin de la Fontaine was closed all day to the public though there did not seem to me much of a crowd at the evening event. So no Temple of Diana. The archaeological (Romantic) museum was good, Maison Carree interesting. Restaurants average. Rail corrections good. Did not try buses - there seem to be at least three companies. France has gone crazy with privatisation. Did it learn nothing from Thatcher?

It's easy to navigate the town centre. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops within a short walk. A visit to the Les Halles (The Market Hall) is a must and, if you love seafood, the Bar a Huitres, inside. I'd also recommend a meal at Chez Lulu. The Narbo Via is worth a visit. There are other museums and sights to see, which will have to wait for my return.

It was a Family home which had all the things you need for a family holiday, bike hire from Argeles Velos was good value as there are cycle tracks everywhere so for the adventures families, safe cycling is available. The beach is a 30 minute walk, the village 10 minutes, with markets and evening outdoor entertainments a taste of French village life, there are traditional shops with all French foods and on the outskirts of the village a large Lidl for a big family shop. Great night life at the beach for teenagers - live bands etc . There is also a small train which you can get from the village to take you to the beach snd back

A quiet, picturesque little fishing town with proximity to beaches and wetlands. There is a lot to do for a tourist, many good Seafood restaurants and several beautiful beaches.
