The are is nicce and peaceful, I live and work in London, beautiful part of Kent that I have been visiting for over 45 years :-) Food in the Grove Ferry Inn was well cooked and very tasty, we were a little worried as some of the reveiws weren't great but everything was fine.
A beautiful and fascinating town, where we would like to have a holiday apartment,if we could afford it ! A lovely, unspoilt part of Kent, full of great historical features, interesting shops and excellent restaurants.
Tends to get overlooked in favour of other Kent resorts. Nice quiet beaches, good shops both national and independent. Also some decent restaurants. No good if you want funfairs ans arcades.
Sittingbourne is a nice little town, on the rail line with a good shopping centre. It's close enough to all the major Kentish attractions by rail and car that it's well worth a look if you don't want your stay in Kent to be too pricey.
A jewel on the Kent coast. A charming town, unspoiled and pretty with everything you’d need for a lovely visit. Beautiful beach, quaint town and the Hythe and Dymchurch narrow gauge railway.
A fine mix of the medieval, Georgian and 20th century architecture create an ambience making Canterbury an ideal place to visit, and ideal base for exploring other parts of this remote area of Kent. We visited historic Broadstairs, for instance.
Good base for day walks in the Kent countryside and to visit Hever Castle and Penshurst Place. The High St in the old part of town is attractive and has all the essentials (pubs, restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy, tourist info).
Lots little shops and post office . good hotel for food and drink ..and several cafes but not always open ... a quaint Kent village ..Great central location for visiting surrounding areas .. Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and further afield towards the Southdowns and coast ..lots of National Trust properties in all directions! Cranbrook Windmill and church also interesting to visit ..lots of local history in beautiful countryside ..
A lovely little English seaside town in Kent. Lovely long beach, friendly people. great High Street as well, good little shops and an indoor market place full of treasures. Lots of little Cafe's and tea rooms. a variety of places to eat. Quite easy to get around the town once you have parked, there is free parking around the edges of the canal. The canal also makes for a lovely walk or boat ride.
Canterbury Cathedral is a must. Explore the charming Tudor back streets on route, cross the bridges on the Stour and weave your way back in time. Relax in a punt and listen to tales or simply relax with a pint of Faversham Ale. This is true English heritage in the heart of Kent and England’s beautiful garden.
We have stayed here several times due to its location and value for money. The staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. The room was quiet and had everything we needed for a one night stay, including a bath. The bed was comfy and there wasn't anything we needed but didn't have. We had breakfast included in the price, which was great. There was, as always, a good selection of hot and cold foods to select from. I really cannot fault this hotel and will definitely stay again when I'm next in Kent.
Broadstairs
Great overnight stay for 5 women walking the Kent coastal path. The property was ideally located for us and close to pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops (we ate in the Charles Dickens gastropub in the evening and Ed's Cafe for an excellent breakfast). The accommodation was superb: light and bright, well furnished and equipped, comfortable and clean. Thank you Lenka. We were sorry not to be able to finish the bottle of prosecco that you kindly left for us but grateful for the extra teabags!
We were open minded after reading some of the reviews. However we were pleasantly surprised. It was very reasonably priced, breakfast and evening meal were good. Rooms were comfortable. The staff were accommodating and pleasant. Overall we have no grumbles. Yes some parts are dated and yes the facilities are not all singing and dancing, however for the money it’s good value. We were looking for a good value hotel for a last minute visit to Kent for a funeral and we shall book again.
We were very pleased with the size and comfort of our Junior Suite. The breakfast and evening meal were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and the location was ideal for touring that area of Kent and visiting National Trust properties such as Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens and Bodium Castle. Ideal too for the beautiful Great Dixter house and Gardens. As you can tell we are not golfers but we still enjoyed our stay at a Golf course hotel.
The Best Western Plus Dover Marina was one of the most exceptional lodging options in our 3 wk travels in UK and France. An exceptionally wonderful setting w beautiful views of the white cliffs of Dover, the Kent Castle, and ferry crossings on the English Channel. Just blocks from original old town Dover with delightful shopkeepers. The hotel itself was lovely and very comfortable. All staff were very pleasant, helpful, and efficient. A truly great value!
Loved this beautiful apartment! Everything about it was perfect!! It had everything we needed, and the views were indeed spectacular. The position couldn't be better. I was born in Ashford, and my parents are both from Herne Bay, so I've been coming to Kent for family holidays since I was little. I'm now in my mid 40's and have my own family, including a 5yr old and this apartment is definitely one of the best we've stayed in.
Canterbury
We stayed in a lodge as we have a dog. The lodge is very comfortable. We went to the main hotel on the grounds a few times, for meals and to enjoy the pool (quite small but lovely) and the snooker room (my boys loved it!). The main hotel in the old building is fabulous. The staff were also very friendly and approachable. The location is really good to visit Kent, as it is so close to Canterbury, Dover but also the beautiful Kent beaches!
We stayed in a caravan and two of the hotel rooms. All three were modern, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The park is very quiet and the on-site pub is friendly and serves good food. We would definitely go back if we were in the area again. A car is a necessity if you want to travel to the local area as the site is quite remote but Sandwich (worth a visit) is only 20minutes away, as are the northern Kent seaside towns.
We were on a walking tour of Kent and had spent the day in fields and forests. The Village Hotel was just what we needed for a relaxing evening and night. We had dinner in their restaurant, and it was crowded but spacious enough to let everyone spread out. The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was amazing....just the thing for two pilgrims to get back onto their path to Canterbury the next day, refreshed and renewed!
The hotel is a gem. Very unique, a beautiful period piece full of fascinating decor, and the art and museum is an intriguing blend. The staff were very good, very friendly, and our host was fabulous and a pleasure to meet. The location is perfect. The breakfast was outstanding, and we would like to have stayed for longer than one night. Would definitely recommend and we are looking forward to returning next time in Kent.
Kent
We loved the location, and the flat is charming and very comfortable. The owners really have gone the extra mile and provided everything you could possibly need during your stay, even a bottle of bubbly in the fridge. Dee was super helpful when we booked. We'd definitely recommend this beautiful apartment, and wouldn't hesitate to book again next time we visit Kent.
Margate
A friend and I were cycling along the Kent coast. This boutique hotel provided a very comfortable overnight stay in a convenient location over looking the sea. The owner was friendly and very helpful. Our bicycles were kept securely in the rear garden. We enjoyed a good breakfast in the hotel - a recommended extra.
A nice stay, the hotel has a great/sexy/cool vibe, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Feels like being in a swanky city hotel, in the middle of the Kent countryside! An excellent place for a date night. Brilliant to have two dining places / restaurants on site and a great bar and lounge area.
Whitstable
The apartment was indeed a perfect Nook for our break in Kent and especially Whitstable. The location was ideal, being in the centre of Old Whitstable and close to beach, harbour and shopping. The owners French Cafe below is idyllic with scrumptious Breton inspired menu. Our hosts were delightful and welcoming.
The facilities in the room were in ver good conditions. Above all the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, warm, positively encouraging and willing to support all our needs and requests as it relates to our visitro Kent. This experience was consistent from when we checked-in to when we checked-out.
Littlestone-on-Sea
From arrival to departure was A++++. Welcome contact, cleanliness, apartment facilities covered everything I needed. The welcome package was the best I have ever seen. Finally everything EXCEEDED my expectations. Apartment will be my number 1 go to when in Kent area every time.
The Bull Hotel is a lovely old building in a beautiful part of rural Kent. The rooms are quite spacious and relatively well equipped. The breakfast menu offers plenty of good, tasty options. The service is unobtrusive and efficient. Car parking is ample and easy.
Quiet and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Location was great for doing the Margate Park Run and Kent Coastal Half Marathon. Although the apartment was in the ground floor, there was no disturbance from the street and other residents were considerate.
Canterbury
Delightful apartment in the Kent Downs equipped with everything you need for your stay. Although we didn't meet the host she was responsive and had decorated the place with many thoughtful touches. We will definitely be back in spring/summer!
Used this hotel as a base for holiday visiting friends in Kent Good solid seaside hotel. Great location onsite parking Room was bright & clean Friendly staff, food was well cooked and tasty although menu was a little limited
