LatviaA fantastic hotel experience. I booked this for us as part of a trip showing my family from overseas the UK. We came here after 2 days in London and it was the perfect way to decompress and relax after a hectic time in the busy capital. When we arrived the scenery was breath-taking and walking through the main lounge with the real fireplace and comfortable, stylish furnishings we knew we made the right choice for a hotel. The rooms we booked were lovely and clean, our room had a beautiful view and the comfiest hotel bed we have slept in. The staff were friendly and approachable, they managed to provide a high end hotel experience without us feeling we were out of place with their friendly attitude. One of the waiting staff even offered to take a group photo of us when she saw my Grandfather attempting to take one which was lovely. The 3 course evening meal was fantastic and well presented and the bar had some lovely drinks options which were added to by the charming pub a 5 minute walk away in the nearby village. We all had a lovely time and I had to drag my husband away so we could check out and explore the Lakes! We are already planning to return and bring my in-laws with us. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far, huge thanks to all involved.

Well, having booked this months ago, I wasn't sure what we were expecting but we were pleasantly surprised with our entire stay and everyone went above and beyond for us and our two little kiddos. No issues with parking, plenty of spots and no height restrictions, just tight corners navigating from the front with our family transporter. Greeted with a lovely lady at reception, kind, friendly and very helpful as well with the bags we had. Tea and coffees were offered in the dining area, all inclusive and I recommend giving this a try, you won't regret it. our favourites were rocky road and the brownie, YUMMO! We were taken to the room, and placed our orders for breakfast the next morning on the paper slip. Plenty of different options for us and the kids, Pancakes, Porridge and the big breakfast were our choices. The room was well set out for us and we had plenty of room for all of us in the ULLSWATER. Earlier that day we booked the Sunday roast feast for 4 at 95 quid. We starved ourselves all day for this and were not disappointed with what we got. Delivered by the chef personally, Yorkshire pudds, carrots, cauliflower bake, mash, pigs in blanket, stuffed pudding and some chicken. We devaoured it all. Hats go off to the chef and lovely staff who looked after us. Great meal and great night in the restaurant. Quick swim before breakfast, is a massive bonus for us with our girl so active and it's complimentary with your stay. Breakfast didn't disappoint with the chef again delivering our meals and bonus points for adding some blueberries to my daughters pancakes which was just so lovely, Something so little but a wonderful gesture, Highly recommend this accomodation for the quality, price and just family friendly hospitality they provide. Full ups and our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.

Reception staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. It's a small and quaint hotel, but it far outweighs anything else in the area for that price. WiFi was strong given the area. Dog-friendly (with separate outdoor eating are so the furbabies can stay with the guests as they eat). Roast dinner served on weekdays. English breakfast was good.

All the staff we spoke to were polite, friendly and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
Our suite was cleaned to a high standard, well maintained and quiet throughout our stay.

Amazing staff host was amazing pointing out local walk including an infinity pool a 20 min walk away. Cabin was lovely and snug. No wifi so bring games and download some movies. Location is stunning well worth a visit

I have been going to Keswick for almost 50 years.
I have been going to Keswick for almost 50 years. Mostly cycling or walking but this weekend was just enjoying the pubs and views of the lakes and mountains without exerting myself. Great dog friendly pubs full of character and an open top bus ride down the lake.

Amazing location and was just 1.5 miles away from car park that takes us to top of Helvellyn mountain. Nice and easy under 10 min drive to Keswick which was very conveinent. Thirlmere Dam and the hike up the hill next to it is a good one to go around as well. The breakfast at Kings Head Inn in Thirlmere was very good..

Fantastic place to stay! Last minute choice but very glad we chose this location. Fantastic views, lovely and warm in rooms when we arrived, which makes a big difference. Stunning rooms which were spotless. Lovely breakfast in the morning and a fantastic host in Helen. Will definitely be going back, sooner rather than later!

We stayed in the Buttermere Court hotel, all staff very friendly, clean comfortable rooms, ours was first floor with a few small flights of stairs. Room 5 was over the dining room for residents not over the bar.
Very flexible on cooked breakfast, perfect poached egg. Lake and Mountain View from room.
Car park had cones for residents ready to use on arrival, free until departure at 11am moved the car a few spaces along and paid on return from walk.
On the road side of the walk the terrain can be a little rocky and we walked through the tunnel.
On return we had a lovely bowl of soup at Sykes farm cafe and a filled Yorkshire pudding just before the Bridge Hotel.

This is the place to unwind, take in the amazing 360 scenery.
Theres loads to do, walks, hike, rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boarding or just sit and watch the world go by.
I ate at the restaurant Id booked The Glaramara hotel, they prepare exceptional food, my time was taken with hikes up Herons Pike, Scafell Pike and a good long walk around the Derwent lake.
It’s a place that asks for your full attention and rewards it with a deep sense of peace. For me, Borrowdale isn't about what you do, but about what you feel—a sense of solitude and connection to something wild and enduring.
I left feeling quite emotional and cant wait to return.

Great location, very warm welcome, delicious food (we ate in the restaurant in the evening and then had a great Cumbrian breakfast included in our stay!). Family room was a great layout for a family with older teens. We made use of the gym and swimming pool. Would return!

Absolutely stunning landscape.
Absolutely stunning landscape. There are lots of beautiful walks from the hotel and a great tea room - the Flock Inn with wonderful views from the back seatin area. It is short walk to Stonethwaite which has a great pub and mining museum in the church. The best thing is the serenity and lack of other tourists.

Bassenthwaite Lake is a quiet mostly forgotten part of the lakes but offers a good place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Keswick. It offers easy parking, good quality and good value accommodation and some great pubs and restaurants.
