The hotel experience was amazing, the room was decorated amazingly as per request and our stay was very comfortable with the room being very clean and spacious. The meal and drinks we had were lovely. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff were very polite, professional and went above and beyond to make our time here as a couple feel very special.

A Rural Retreat for Royalty
Sleepy and agricultural, Norfolk has peaceful villages and deserted beaches that provide a relaxing country escape. Its riverside county town Norwich has historic buildings and a popular market dominated by a cathedral. It also houses several luxury Norfolk hotels on Booking.com.
East are the Norfolk Broads, tranquil waterways that pass by small villages, windmills and verdant countryside. Further east Great Yarmouth, with its Pleasure Beach, is one of the most popular Norfolk seaside resorts. Other beaches are at Cromer, whose pier has a theatre at the end, and Hunstanton, home to a Sea Life centre and a range of North Norfolk hotels. Between them are Wells-Next-the-Sea where wetlands continue to Blakeney, popular for birdwatching.
Also on the coast is Sheringham from where a steam train runs to inland Holt. Swaffham to the south-west is a small market town and surrounding it are some of the Norfolk country houses offering accommodation. Thetford to the south has a riverside park and is by Thetford Forest, site of a Go Ape high ropes course. Snetterton Racetrack is midway between there and Attleborough.
A speedway track is located in historic King’s Lynn, another market town whose wide river means that it also acts as a port. To the north-west Dersingham neighbours Sandringham, whose country house is a private residence of the Queen.

Beautiful setting, excellent cooking. There was a wide choice of dishes in the evening and the vegetables were well cooked - al dente and not too soft. I could get soya milk for breakfast, which was good. The staff was friendly and the room spacious and immaculate. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a lovely visit to Norwich, in particular the old part of the castle. We also enjoyed the cathedral, although rather disappointed that the cloisters were closed earlier than the church.
A lovely find was the Plantation Gardens, just next door to our hotel on Earlham Road.

We have had Hunstanton as our local beach for over 40 years. It’s a great seaside town. The beach got spoiled after a severe storm some years ago as it was completely sandy but now is very stony. Some areas like “The Steps” beach is ruined as the steps became buried in the storm. Shame but still a lovely beach though I’d never swim in the sea now as the sea water is so dirty. Great walk along the Prom even up to Heacham and back. Great icecream places
There are many places to choose to eat. The Marine Hotel bar food was good as is cake and tea at the Copper cafe. Chives is good but more pricey. Loads of fish chips available. “Sealife is a good place to visit. It’s educational!
Good bakers, supermarkets. Generally all shops you need for a beach town. Easily drivable to other towns for more shops!

Lovely seaside town. The pier a great place to walk, have food and ice cream . Some interesting shops to browse. Fish and chips excellent. Could perhaps do with a few more good restaurants for choice.

Good location for seeing north west Norfolk and train access to Ely and Cambridge for days out without the car.
The historic quarter of King's Lynn is interesting but the town itself is rather run down which is a real shame. Don't go for the shopping experience.

Sheringham is a lovely destination on the Norfolk coast.
Sheringham is a lovely destination on the Norfolk coast. It is close to Cley if you like birdwatching, Morston for a seal trip, Wells for a change of scenery with Holkham close by. It has remained untainted by the movement of time and has a lovely traditional feel about it. There is even a 1940's weekend where everyone takes part along with a Summer carnival.
Some of the places to eat in Sheringham are really good too.

There are many excellent cafes to choose from dotted around the town, lots of interesting independent shops and an excellent Budgens supermarket, two very good pubs in the High Street, plus The Canny Fox an independent micropub and there is still an Adnams there. The local buses are very good we didn't use our car at all, plus there is the Holt to Sheringham steam/ diesel train station.
