The inn is off the beaten track and was chosen by us as a base for walking the downs of South Wiltshire; with excellent walks from the doorstep and dozens more a short drive from our base. The staff were particularly friendly; the cooked breakfast, using local produce, a well prepared treat. Although very much a “pub with rooms” rather than a hotel, this was little hardship as the dining/bar area was a charming place to relax (serving Butcombe’s great range of ales) and was by no means noisy when it came to bed.

Excellent location for visiting historic Wiltshire or,as we were, attending a function at a local military base. The staff were very friendly and the Shepherds Hut's are an wonderful 'different' place to stay and avoid the usual 'bland' hotel box room. It was a unique experience that provided an excellent alternative accommodation option that was in keeping with that part of Wiltshire. Overall a brilliant experience.

Spacious, beautifully appointed room. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom with a soaking tub. The hotel’s historic elements have been thoughtfully preserved but it also had stylish modern touches. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Ideally located to explore this part of Wiltshire, with a pretty garden and roaming peacocks (apparently a thing in the town). Would love to return in fall or winter as the room invites staying in.

Great new ‘stopover hotel’ on the grounds of a Green King Pub and Grill. Clean, functional, no frills, but very pleasant hotel. It also has an enjoyable view of the Wiltshire fields from the window. Staff very friendly and keen to please. Breakfast at the Pub and Grill restaurant separate building was very good. Proper scrambled eggs - not the mass produced pale tasteless offering if most chain hotel breakfast!

This beautiful little cottage in a quiet valley in Wiltshire was amazing, you’re not a customer in a hotel you’re a welcome and valued guest. Debs greeted us with abounding friendliness and conversation. Ate at the fox and hounds which was really good chow. Returned back to find fire lit and sat watching a spot telly in a very comfortable front room. Absolutely recommend. Thanks Deb and James.

Lovely location with beautiful views over the Wiltshire fields. The hotel was quiet and relaxing with pretty gardens that you could walk around. The bedroom was large, comfortable double bed and the ensuite bathroom was nice and the shower was hot. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good although not much of a selection of fruit. The lounge area was comfortable and relaxing.

Lovely little studio apartment in a rural setting. Lots of thought had gone into the modern decor and the small kitchen was really helpful. Hosts was very friendly and accommodating. Great communication. Quiet and peaceful, nice local walks on the door step and easy drive into Bristol/Bath and Wiltshire. Enjoyed the TV, good shower, fold down table was a clever addition.

An incredible spa hotel in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. Stayed here recent for an over night stay with my other half, and was blown away! Such a beautiful hotel with great decor throughout, with lovely modern comfort rooms. Nice clean, modern spa facilities. The food at the restaurant was exceptional. I will definitely be coming back again in the future!

Breakfasts were excellent. Staff always helpful, with particular commendation for finding and then sending on my wedding ring ... Location excellent both in town and for our purpose which was to tour and visit in Wiltshire. Thanks for the parking - we appreciated the convenience of an hotel car park in the middle of town.

This is a tremendous hotel, whether you have children or not. We had a delightful room and the staff in both hotel and spa could not have been more helpful. The hotel is in a perfect position for Bradford upon Avon and exploring the Wiltshire countryside. We will definitely be visiting again

..Hi Castle & Ball town location Marlborough Wiltshire near Neolithic Giant Stone Avebury !! Hotel very clean tidy comfortable relaxed atmosphere staff very good dinner & breakfast room with view & shower excellent !! all with free parking and WIFI.

Position of the hotel and it being a walkable distance from the town and the Wiltshire Music Centre. The breakfast was ok and we enjoyed sitting in the sunny dining room with amazing views of the countryside. The room was cosy and comfortable.

Great location ; Very friendly staff ; Lovely rooms and Surrounding gardens , along with Wonderful scenery and walking trails . We always love Wiltshire and normally stay at Bowood, so this was a step up .

This self contained apartment has everything we needed and the location was great for touring around Bath and Wiltshire. Tim is a very helpful host with great local knowledge.

The rooms were lovely. Loved the second floor outside patio. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we've come across at a uk hotel!

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Salisbury. Our room was super spacious and really comfortable. We only met one person of the team during our stay, but he was so helpful and friendly. We experienced quite a journey getting there; delayed planes en flights. Once we arrived, we immediately felt at home. It’s became super clear that the hotel puts guest satisfaction above everything else. Thanks for a lovely stay!
