Its my second time in Onaya in 3 years, it was great the first time and even better this one. The location is perfect for me, far enough from the main road to have complete silent and close enough to get to restaurants and shops (~5/7 min drive). Thank you again for making me feel home away from home !

This is such a beautiful property in its design, ambience and the people that work there. We loved it. Easy access down the 161 steps straight to the beach for amazing sunsets and to a few local and great restaurants and shops. They had a scooter we hired that was in good condition and nothing was a problem if we needed any advice. We loved our stay!

FAQs about hotels in Bali

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.

Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

Ayana Resort in Bali is truly the best resort I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink, flowers, and a cool, fragranced towel that instantly made us feel at ease. Our stay was in the Ayana Segara ocean-view room, and I was honestly blown away – the room and its view were breathtakingly beautiful. We dined at both Karang and Padi restaurants, and both offered fantastic meals. Padi, in particular, served authentic Indian cuisine, which exceeded my expectations. Every element—the pickle, gravy, flavors—captured the essence of India. Enjoying this food with such a stunning view was like icing on the cake. We also spent time in all the resort’s swimming pools, each offering a refreshing, world-class experience. The Rock Bar was another highlight, with incredible waves and a fantastic vibe. Kubu Beach, accessible by a lift, was also a unique experience. The Resort also offers a dedicated app where we could view a complete map of the resort, explore activities, and browse restaurant options. The app even showed tram schedules, making it easy to travel between different parts of the resort—an incredibly convenient feature. The resort’s hospitality stood out the most. Every staff member greeted us with warmth and politeness, making us feel truly welcome each time we passed by. Everything is so meticulously planned and thoughtfully designed that it left us speechless. If anyone were to ask me what my idea of heaven is, I’d simply say Ayana Resort, Bali.

The design, my room, the bathroom, the deck, the view, the lovely cat and a baby kitten that was there was all so sweet and special to me as an animal lover and advocate back in the states! The pool especially the upper pool by the bar was just exquisite and stylish. The staff so attentive and special. I chose to stay on the grounds more than out and about because it was quiet and peaceful here. This was the one establishment I have stayed on my month in Bali that was adult only and as I am not tolerant at all of kids noises and play and sounds omg this Boutique Hotel was such a pleasure being ADULTS only. I am finding all the families with crying kids and unbehaved kids monopolizing pools come here in high season to Bali. Thank you Bali Eco Gravity Hotel for not allowing kids! I so much enjoyed the peacefulness and use of the pool sans kids!!! I loved the cats too that can be found secretly on the property living their lives.

We stayed in the Cliff pool villa. Impeccable style luxury and the best possible customer service I have ever ever received. Augus, Teresa, Tri, Dwi and many more of the staff always helped us with a smile in their face. They sent some one over to take pictures for us for a small photo shoot we planned impromptu. Cliff bar is beautiful, Watu and Roca are all amazing places to eat in. Will definitely go back for more.

Ubud is a nice enough town, but impossible to walk around. The sidewalks are narrow and filled with people and scooters. Yet, you can't walk in the street easily because there is a LOT of traffic. Our hotel was very nice, but Ubud just isn't a very convenient place to tour the area from. The traffic is just awful.

Our hotel was excellent.

Our hotel was excellent. But, Seminyak beaches are dirty and only a few of the store fronts clean their area. There are a lot of restaurant options and they are well priced. If you like luxury, fake shopping, there is a ton of that. Personally, I would stay in Nusa Dua or Ubud upon my return. baut Seminyak does have a laid back vibe and the massage options are plentiful and cheap.

Uluwatu is beautiful, all the beaches and modern restaurants, bars and cafe's lean more towards the coastal side, it's very easy to get around here with lots of Grab/GoJek bikes and cars driving around often, never waited more than 4 minutes for a ride. Walking around would be easy too, the sidewalks aren't too difficult however the humps and hills of the roads are definitely a workout in the hot sun. Lots of construction in Uluwatu, the streets are noisy, lots of trucks and drilling everywhere.

Sanur is a calm place with a nice mixture of good food and easy shopping. The cafes along the beach are great and there is some nice night time entertainment. Sanur is an affordable area good for families and others who not so much into night clubs etc. is easy place to get around the new shopping centre will be loved by shoppers and some great food places. Sanur is a place I think is a nice balance of affordability and a nice calm vibe.

This was the second time I stayed at Novotel Nusa Dua. First time five years ago. Since then, it's definitely aged and must have been purchased by Accor. They hounded us to join their Accor program. We just wanted to relax not be hounded by staff to join a program. It's a great affordable hotel for families, but the facilities in comparison to other Nusa dua hotels is on the lower end. Staff as always are impeccable!

Horrible.

Horrible. No facilities, beaches distance to each other more than 1 hour and tortuous traffic and roads. Felt so sick that I had to cancel the tour and pay for it anyway. The beaches only for instagram contents, no possible to reach at all. Crystal beach ugly, grey sand and dirty. Unfortunately there were no transports to get back to Kuta so had to spend the night there and get the first speedy boat at 9 am. Was so exhausted and excited to leave. People are like sharks once arrived at the harbour at the point that they confused me, made me loose my belongings and giving us lots of stress. I am in Gili island right now and it’s amazing here. People is amazing , so the food, the vibes and everything excellent. Feeling in Paradise after a day in hell.
