it's been more than a wonderful stay. after hundred curves on the road, when we reached the property, our tiredness had gone in the wind. Chilling out at the balcony near the sunset time was superb. big green olives (super delicious) were served along with the welcome drink... with the comfortable live music. that was very bellisimo welcoming moment. we love loads of things there... we love the location with very convenient boat shuttle and car shuttle to the town. we love fitness both indoor and outdoor under the lemon trees... with the bicycle facing the ocean cliff... it is very beautiful sunlight around 4-5PM too. we love concierge suggesting delicioso ristorante and menus. we love staff welcoming and helping everything we need. we love the breakfast full of variety of menus and ingredients, we had wonderful 4 BF meals. we love wine tasting with sommelier who also has knowledge of olive oil tasting too. we love the rabbit menu at the hotel restaurant too... that was beyond expectation. it is huge too for 2 ppl. we love saying our room number.... 8 and 1/2 we felt very special every single time we say it. couldn't explain more.... there are many detailed moments that captured our memories... until we meet again. Ciao!

FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast

A Feast For the Eyes

Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!

In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.

Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.

High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.

Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

Amalfi is in a beautiful setting and has a long history. Lots of steps! The people were the friendliest we met on our two weeks in Italy. Get the lemon ice cream. Hike up to the Valle delle Ferriere. Ride the public buses. The roads are a thrill!

If you plan to spend time in Positano, La Tavolozza is where...

If you plan to spend time in Positano, La Tavolozza is where you want to stay. It’s located on the town’s “main street”, putting it close to shops, great restaurants, and views of the city from its position situated up the mountain that overlooks the sea. And it is only a few steps to a pedestrian walkway lined with shops that takes you down to the beach. It was a special treat to learn that La Tavolozza is a multigenerational family owned and run business. Franchesca, Paola, Roberta (two sisters and a cousin) run La Tavolozza from their heart. They care about you as a person, not as a tenant. They go out of their way to help make your stay in Positano the best it can be. For example, Paulo helped us arrange a trip to Pompei. And breakfast is delivered to your room, so you can ease into your day at a pace of your choosing. If you want to get a feel for the real Italy, stay here. It is not a sterile, corporate-managed operation. You will leave Positano with a smile and a bit of sadness because your time at La Tavolozza has ended.

FLAT! Which was much easier for walking!

FLAT! Which was much easier for walking! Great restaurants! The Path of Lemons was a nice 45 minute PAVED walk (one way) with moderate stairs and incline. WAY easier than the Path of the Gods and not even comparable in difficulty! At the end of the Path of Lemons in Minori was an amazing bakery that was visited and talked about by Stanley Tucci (Pasticceria Sal De Riso). We took the Path of Lemons over to Minori and walked the main road back (15 minutes). Maiori is a lot less busy than the other towns on the Amalfi Coast. We really enjoyed our stay there and would go back for sure.

We think Vietri is the best place to stay on the Amalfi...

We think Vietri is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast. It is easy to reach (most other towns are a pain to drive to), and is a great place to explore from, with Pompeii only 25 mins drive and Herculaneum around 35 minutes, all motorway. The town itself is very authentic and prices are reasonable compared to the better known places. The boat service to other Amalfi towns is regular and easy to use without being too expensive (€25 return to Amalfi for 2 people) - we enjoyed the boat trips as much as the towns which were generally heaving with tourists, I’d hate to think what high season is like

Friendly competent staff. Amazing views. Small room , but very clean. location great near bus stop for direct access to Amalfi town. Negatives: wedding function on the Saturday night of our stay- lots of noise outside of room until 1.30 am.Smoke alarm fitted directly above bed which flashed continually, would have been better placed away from bed.

This is a great place to spend a couple of days. To get around it’s hard with a car, but if you rent a scooter, you can get around the town as well as along the coast very easily. The open gate resort that we stayed at had parking for a vehicle, which made it nice.

small town away from waaay to busy Amalfi etc. Lots of hikes to do around here, and visits to neighbouring towns by ferry: quick and cheap and wonderful. We so enjoyed our stay here. When you sit in the harbour of Minori at sunset with a nice drink, then nothing is important anymore :-)

Small hotel, family business, with friendly staff. The hotel is in a fantastic location, it has its own stone beach and access to the sea. By car or bus it is easy to reach Amalfi, Positano, or any other town on the Coast. The restaurant in the hotel offers very good food at reasonable prices.
