FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast
A Feast For the Eyes
Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!
In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.
Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.
High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.
Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

We arrived/departed by boat from Salerno.
We arrived/departed by boat from Salerno. It's the best way to see the town, from the sea. Many shops, fresh produce, amazing architecture, friendly people. Only stayed to nights, should have been more.Guest review byMarkUnited States - 10.0

Positano was a good central location for exploring the Amalfi coast & Capri. The town was pretty easy to navigate on foot once you get to the center of the city, but it's still quite a walk downhill to the beaches and the boat docks. It's helpful to learn the bus route for the "Interno Positano" bus. That's how we got to our B&B, which was quite far up the mountain. We always checked with the bus driver about our stop to make sure we were on the correct bus and that we knew where to get off, as it was hard to tell in the dark. We ate at some lovely restaurants in town and on the beach. Always found a good spot without a reservation.Guest review byRBUnited States - 10.0
We were 100% satisfied with our stay in Maiori.
We were 100% satisfied with our stay in Maiori. It’s a great place to base oneself on the Amalfi out of the frenzy of some of the other more touristy towns which are still easy to access by ferry or bus. Always lovely to get back to the calm and the lovely long stretch of beach that Maiori offers with great swimming.Guest review byVivienSouth Africa - 10.0
Cute little town that has all you need.
Cute little town that has all you need. It's a great place to stay in the Amalfi region. It isn't as expensive as the other towns and you can still take a b to get to the costal towns. People were very friendly.Guest review byNatashaGermany - 10.0

We think Vietri is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast. It is easy to reach (most other towns are a pain to drive to), and is a great place to explore from, with Pompeii only 25 mins drive and Herculaneum around 35 minutes, all motorway. The town itself is very authentic and prices are reasonable compared to the better known places. The boat service to other Amalfi towns is regular and easy to use without being too expensive (€25 return to Amalfi for 2 people) - we enjoyed the boat trips as much as the towns which were generally heaving with tourists, I’d hate to think what high season is likeGuest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Picture postcard stunning. Teaming with flowers and lemons.
Picture postcard stunning. Teaming with flowers and lemons. An overriding fragrance of Japanese Trachelospermum , jasmine, everywhere. Impossibly steep and winding, with houses perched on impossible locations as most like a fairytale.Guest review byAnitaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
This is a great place to spend a couple of days.
This is a great place to spend a couple of days. To get around it’s hard with a car, but if you rent a scooter, you can get around the town as well as along the coast very easily. The open gate resort that we stayed at had parking for a vehicle, which made it nice.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 10.0
Cute little town full of locals and some tourists.
Cute little town full of locals and some tourists. Not too busy, easy to get around. Plenty of choice of restaurants but not many bars if you were wanting to stay out later. We walked to Maiori for more choice of restaurants/bars but you have to walk on the side of the road with no pavement. Few good local mini markets, bakery etc. Shuttle bus €1 from church to get a ride up the hill to your accommodation. Nice beach without having to pay for loungers. Buses and ferries to take you all around Amalfi coast. It felt a relief to come back here after being somewhere busy like Amalfi or Positano all dayGuest review bySiobhanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Small hotel, family business, with friendly staff.
Small hotel, family business, with friendly staff. The hotel is in a fantastic location, it has its own stone beach and access to the sea. By car or bus it is easy to reach Amalfi, Positano, or any other town on the Coast. The restaurant in the hotel offers very good food at reasonable prices. The hotel is much better compared to the price.Guest review byGoranMontenegro - 10.0
