The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, with a nice view on the courtyard. Liked the beds very much. The location was excellent: just 10 minutes to Duoma and Medici Palace. Not far from train station - just about 15 minutes. Nearby there are lots of places where you can eat or buy some food (for example, Carefour was on the parallel street). Also the breakfast was included and it was various and delicious. It was very nice that there also was some traditional Florence dishes like Panettone .

This was an amazing few nights stay for us. The resort is fabulous, located by the beach, little chalets are between pines trees. The chalet we had was perfect for our family of 5. There is plenty to do for the kids. Pools were very busy but we didn’t mind as the beach and sea was what we preferred. Our son was the only speaking child in the kids club ( this was. A group for 10 year olds) but the person looking after the group (Abdullah) made sure that our boys felt included and had a great time. The Italian boys were also very welcoming and super kind and so my son had a very good time. We loved the evening entertainment. Food was a bit meh, for Italian beautiful food standards but it was fresh and overall ok for few days (I am not sure I would be happy if we stayed over the week 😀 the cook really needs to learn how to make scrambled eggs. But the omlettes were good). The little shop on the facilities was just great for daily groceries. Overal amazing!

It’s very cute and quaint with a variety of camping types (personal tents and campers but also rentable mobile homes and tent houses). I love that there is not auto traffic though the campground which makes it quiet and safe for walking. The mobile home we rented was clean and comfortable. All linens were included which was appreciated as we were traveling by bike. The beach was really nice and the water was very shallow for a long ways out.

Impeccably run campsite on beach in remote, non-touristy area. We admired the design of our 5 person lodge tent, with 2 BR and BA, full kitchen and deck. Great private restaurant on grounds and a store, very quiet, friendly. The area seemed safe since no one locked up their bikes except electric bikes. Good compact design of site, not too far to walk to the beach.

Florence in June is VERY VERY crowded, full of tourists; it's their "high-season". It's also getting warm and humid. We were told late May-July is very busy. I would return to Florence but would avoid the summer and high season. We hired a driver to take us through Tuscany; visit small towns and smaller wineries (no tour buses). It was great. Do not miss MIchaelangelo square (sunrise - morning is not as crowded) sunset, though magical is CRAZY crowded (again, high season). The walk upto the top of the Duomo is booked out for months so plan accordingly. All'antico Vinaio is a long wait for take away, the main window (there are 3 windows) has two lines for orders, one in the back so queue there. Lots of leather goods shops, choose wisely.

Lucca was the home of my grandparents and therefore special to me however it has much to offer a tourist looking for a quaint old city with character and charm. The people are kind, generous and very helpful. It is a small walled city in Tuscany a short train ride from Florence to the east and the seaside to the west. Wonderful historic sites including Puccini's home. Great shopping and marvelous food. Can't go wrong visiting here.

I only stayed overnight, but this gritty, international and vibrant city grew on me by the hour. Tourists are an exception here so you get to see life in a port city next to the people who call it home. Do t miss the Mercato Centrale, but go before noon. Also across the street from there find the small bar Da Gagarin for their inimitable “5 e 5” chickpea sandwich, at less than 3 Euro.

Montalcino is a beautiful town. Very clean and scenic with amazing views of the countryside far below. Its an easily walkable town, though there are some hills, its not flat. The restaurants are all well reviewed and we enjoyed every meal we had. The shops looked interesting. The town is very much about the local wines (which are amazing), so its a fantastic place for wine lovers. Many other interesting towns and sites are within an hour's drive, so its a good base to explore the area.

Viareggio does have style, particularly in some of the Modernist buildings. There are trains and buses to nearby towns, such as Pisa, Lucca. The main thing we did not like was that all the beaches in Viareggio were private, with payment for hire of deckchairs etc. On holiday we do not spend all day on the beach, but like to sit by the sea relaxing for periods. When we asked a couple of places whether we could hire chairs, umbrellas for a short period they said no, it was 20 euros for the day or nothing. It was pre-season and all the chairs/sunbeds etc were empty.
