The information staff at the airport were most helpful and gracious. I was looking for the usual I for information but found that it was a ? Question mark. I did work it out though. As we only stayed overnight there was no time for sightseeing in Narita.Guest review bySmedleyAustralia - 10.0

Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. Locally speaking, Chiba offers many different places to eat (some of the best donuts I've ever had came from a donut shop called Uni Donuts close to the hotel I stayed at) and a cool Anime hobby store.Guest review byOliver - 10.0
Funabashi is a perfect slice of genuine Japan.
Funabashi is a perfect slice of genuine Japan. The people there were so kind, and it was a perfect place to see what the lives of the Japanese people are really like. It didn't feel sterilized and curated, it felt genuine. I met the most amazing people on earth there, and it was a joy to wander through the narrow streets of Funabashi seeing different aspects of their culture and city. The people there were very kind and helpful, so if I was ever lost or just wanted to talk it was not hard to find someone who would help. The Funabashi Daijingu felt very spiritual to me, and I truly believe it is a holy place. I was awestruck, and was moved to tears. There were lots of places to eat the local dishes, even an Okinawa-style Izakaya which is my favorite place on earth. If you go there tell the bartender Teddy says hi!Guest review byTeddy - 6.0

you can take less clothes because they have washing machines. the room needs to be cleaned better. the bed should have more pillows. maybe take on you trip some inflatable pillows ? getting around kashiwa is crazy easy. nothing will get lost, stolen, you will not get mugged. kashiwa feels super safe. its amazing how many starbucks stores they have in such short space. the kashiwa train station has a mall. its so big you will not see it entirely. good food is everywhere. and is cheap. have good internet on your cell phone, you will use google translate a lot. for me the trash you make is a problem to throw away. and i dont like having trash in a room that is so small. in japan culture it looks like they expect you dont create waste. but everything comes with a packaging, so what do you do with the packaging? sleep next to everything till the next day. i have no tip for that.Guest review byLuisDominican Republic - 6.0

A good selection of restaurants but they are not geared up for foreigners, be prepared to use google translate a lot. There are some nice restaurants directly opposite the hotel which made life much easier. I would recommend the restaurant / bar Tomisen (opposite the hotel entrance), they looked after me. The weekends were a little boring, there isn't much to do so I just ended up working until 17:00 until the restaurants opened.Guest review byDANIEL THOMAS JAMESUnited Kingdom - 4.0

It’s very handy to the airport, cheap and in this case you get what you pay for upgrade yourself especially if you are in need of a good night sleep and a morning cuppa. We were there for one night only to get some rest before flying home, I wish we had of skipped it.Guest review byadeleAustralia - 10.0
As British tourists we only spent one day at Disneyland,...
As British tourists we only spent one day at Disneyland, because there is simply too much to see and do in the rest of Japan. But I would have loved to spend two or three days here, seeing both the Disney parks, and really taking a bit more time to enjoy the rides, soak up the atmosphere and see some of the processions. But what would we have shaved off the rest of our trip to accommodate that? Everything is a trade-off, so the only real solution is to visit Japan for significantly more than two weeks, or to come back again and again.Guest review byTessaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Japanese community in Chiba is very helpful.
The Japanese community in Chiba is very helpful. You won't get lost. Directions are very clear and they have people at every post who will help you buy your train tickets and banks are easy to find to avail of cash. I want to go back and see more of Chiba in the future. I have seen only a few of the beautiful views and the weather is very nice and the food is very delicious. I can still remember the hot and delicious ramen that my husband and I were slurping after a walk in the park. I enjoyed filming the crosswalk the most where people crossed the street in a straight, vertical and horizontal, diagonal and curvy directions. It was so fun.Guest review byFlorencia LeeCanada - 10.0
I had never traveled internationally before so I was trying...
I had never traveled internationally before so I was trying to find a place that was a decent distance from Tokyo but not too far so I could get to everywhere I wanted to go in a decent amount of time. Kashiwa seemed to provide that but didn't know what to expect until I arrived. It was definitely a good choice - my hotel was within 5-10 of the train station which is a nice size and easy to navigate once you get used to it. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from - both brand name and local places you can enjoy along with variety. The shopping is also quite nice - plenty of discount stores, pharmacies and major stores like a Don Quijote near the shopping street as well as a Bic Camera outside the station. And even if some locations are a bit far away, the places are with a reasonable walking distance. The streets were clean, saw very little garbage anywhere and if there was any, it was picked up really quickly. Kashiwa also really loves their soccer team, the Reysol - I came back a couple times to see a lot of the locals dressed up in the team colors or carrying something for the team. And there was no issues with any locals either - everybody was really pleasant and very respectful so if you need a place to stay that is outside of Tokyo, I would consider here as an option - I would gladly stay here again.Guest review byThe ShowViewer
