Cross Hotel is a spectacular building, located very close to the hustle and bustle of central Kyoto. Despite the location we experienced a quiet and relaxing stay here. The breakfast was fantastic with Western and Asian options. The staff were so friendly and helpful - it was disappointing to see some tourists not reciprocating this back. The room was slightly small but unless you’re planning on travelling to Japan to then spend most of your time in your room, this shouldn’t be an issue. The hotel was spotless, highly recommend.

Amazing experience at Henn na Hotel Premier Kyoto Gojo Karasuma! Our stay was absolutely perfect. The hotel is beautiful, modern, and very well located. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed to relax after exploring Kyoto. The breakfast was outstanding — without a doubt, the best one of our entire trip! It was varied, delicious, and had something for everyone. On top of that, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. 100% recommended — we would love to come back!

Our stay at the Temple Hotel was so much more than we hoped for. Our hosts were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The experiences on offer gave us an insight into Buddhism, temple life, traditional food, and culture. Everything was of the highest quality and thoughtfully provided. It was easy to catch the train there, and Ayabe is a delightful place after the busyness of Kyoto. We would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully, we can visit again one day.

This very new hotel was an unexpected gem. Located on the north east edge of Kyoto station right at the Porta exit A5 it has easy access to trains, busses and restaurants. The rooms are huge by Japan standards and are more like a studio than hotel room, with walk in rain shower and toilet with buttons (in English) coupled with a comfortable Queen sized bed, sofa and table. Access is by key code and there are only three rooms per floor making it very private. I loved it!

Perfection! A modern ryokan in the perfect location - walking distance to the best of Kyoto and isolated enough to not feel the crowds. The room and bed (king size) were huge by Japanese standards and the in-room onsen was delightful. The room was so well thought out, even the placement of the lights and chargers. We arranged Japanese breakfast via email just for 1 morning. They accommodated our vegetarian needs and everything was delicious. I will stay here every time!

We enjoyed an amazing stay in Kyoto in a lovely Japanese home that was prepared for our rather large group of people. Five of us were welcomed with very nice Japanese futon mattresses that were split between 2 rooms on the two different floors. The mutual spaces were big enough for us to enjoy cooking dinner, watch some late-night movies and etc. The neighborhood was extremely quiet and cozy with very good connections to transport for Arashiyama and Kyoto Station.

The location is excellent—just a two-minute walk from Kyoto Station and right across from Kyoto Tower. It's a convenient spot, yet it feels peaceful and is away from the main street. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. I always enjoy returning to the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One suggestion would be to offer a combined Japanese and Western breakfast in one place, rather than having to choose between the two options.

We liked everything about Nihonkan, the owners were very kind accommodating, the location was perfect for us, 5 minutes from the train station and an easy stroll to all the areas you come to Kyoto for. Staying in a traditional Japanese style room was a great experience and as others have mentioned the beds on the floor were comfortable, we had a room with a private bathroom, both the room and the bath/shower were very spacious, we loved our stay!

Hotel Granvia Kyoto is situated in a very convenient location close to all amenities that a traveller will need such as places to eat, a supermarket, drug store , convenience store, laundromat within walking distance as well as easy access to transportation options. Quiet sleep was easily achieved despite being next to the the Kyoto Station and breakfast was good with many options. The view of the Kyoto tower every day was nice to see.

This hotel was the best out of all the hotels we stayed at while in Japan. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were all very helpful, welcoming and professional. We really liked the location of the hotel. While it might not be right near the major attractions, it was walking distance to Nishiki Market, and had easy access to bus and train options. We found it really easy to get around Kyoto from the hotel.

Hatsune Hotel is a very good place to stay. It takes roughly about 15mins to walk to the Kyoto train station and about the same to walk into the city centre. There is a good bar full of tourists mostly, a few minutes walk. A great coffee record shop on the way to Kyoto station. Lots of eating places 5-10 min walk. Also another train station about 10 mins walk. Kevin the "boss" is very helpful and speaks great English.

Very well kept & liked the common space a lot—was good for socializing during beer hour! The bed was the comfiest during my Japan trip & all the wake-up features were super nice, too. Rest of amenities & facilities were very nice, rented pajamas for 200 yen. In a great location about 15min by bus from Kyoto Station, but close to lots of shops/restaurants/bars & it was nice to walk by the river at night!

The location is quiet and not far away from Kyoto station (12-15 min walk). The staff is very friendly and happy to help until late hours. The room was clean and has everything you may need. The breakfast is delicious and served promptly. Evening free sake at the bar allows you meeting other travellers. I would love to come back to Kyoto and stay at Imu Hotel once again. Hotel is located just accross the JR station & nerby metro station plus bus station. Great discount on Kyoto Tower enterance fee. Plenty of restaurants and coffee/pastry shops within walking distance. Rooms are a littel tiny as expected, all amenities are supplied and rooms cleaned on request. Amazing Sanjusangendo buddhist temple nearby. Tourist information within Kyoto Tower is really informative.

Best thing about this hotel is the location - felt like it was walking distance from all the major attractions in Kyoto, and easy access to both Gion during the day and the lively restaurant area at night. Breakfast was also fairly good with a nice selection of local Japanese options, although some variety would have been nice (as we were there for 4 nights and food was exactly the same).

This was my second stay at Hotel Amanek and it was just as good as I remembered. To me it’s perfectly situated on the bus route from Kyoto station (3 stops) and a short walk over the bridge to the Keihan line to Nara or a bit further walk up to Gion and the temples and Pagodas there. The Onsen is also a great and the hotel amenities (robes and toothbrushes etc) are a nice touch.

Hotel near south exit of Kyoto station. Room is in good size but lack of accesories needed for a good stay such as cloth hangers. Cloth dust is observed everywhere that is lower than other Japanese hotels standard. Breakfast in photo look nice but taste is not good and the menu is same everyday. 7-11 has empty shelf due to many hotel guests using it.

Gorgeous, spotless hotel. There are bus stops nearby and a subway station about 10 minutes away by foot. It’s fairly close to Kyoto’s shopping district via walking and has an amazing onsen to relax in at the end of the day. Just be aware that, like most Japanese onsens, it’s not tattoo friendly.

The location was amazing! Just a street away from Kyoto station, which made my journey incredibly enjoyable. And my room had the street view, which was also great! Staff were incredibly friendly and reliable, made me feel comfortable! They even have Japanese sauna included during the stay!

Room was very clean, Breakfast and Dinner was also nice taste I made reservation 3 months before arrival date , so I got a really good deal 😊 You could get the Bus from Kyoto Station to Hotel easily ( it’s about 45mins to get there) Bus station is about 3mins walk from this Homestay !
