Beside station, lots of shops and restaurants around here and super clean and cheap. Dinner was great too.

I liked the onsen, comfortable room, and the theme of the hotel.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The hot springs were the best part of our stay and the staff was courteous and helpful. It was close to many excellent restaurants and Imagine Coffee the best place for coffee only a short 5 minute walk away. The breakfast was delicious with a mix of Japanese and Western food to choose from. The hotel is literally right across the street from JR Matsue Station so it's very easy to get there after arriving by train.

Excellent location close to Matsue Castle and train station. The queen beds are super comfortable and the room was very spacious. The on-site onsen was also very nice and the staff were helpful and friendly!

The staff really went the extra mile to tidy up the rooms even though we were aware there would only be an eco-friendly cleaning. They replaced our towels and left things in a very thoughtful way. Having complimentary, really rather decent, coffee waiting for us downstairs each morning was a great perk, and the clean, ambient, and absolutely delightful onsen (with complimentary melon soda ice et al!) was just the cherry on top of a very lovely stay. Not to mention the location being basically inside the station, setting you up in the most convenient way for daytrips and next destinations.

Our family of 3 enjoyed our stay at Toyoko Inn Hamada Eki Kita Guchi. Our rooms were comfortable. The laundry facilities were reliable, as usual. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was satisfactory.

The staff was wonderful. Some basic English spoken as well as English materials with hotel info. Very clean, lovely room layout, comfortable beds and soft towels. Little vending machine area with a microwave. Close to mall, shops, and restaurants. My room had a nice view of the city.

A no frills hotel in Matsue but ended me with surprises. I drop my luggage with an ease and was check-in by the the helpful staffs. When I came back at night, my lugagge was already brought to my room. I got my keycard in no time and got entry to my Single bed room. The toiletries like hairbrush, toothbrush kit, haircap and cottonpads are free for grabs at the ground floor. There are also free popsicles. The room is spacious for single and like the idea it has a door to the bedrooom which really minimizes the noise. They got all the amenities available TV, personal fridge, AC, tea making facility and with a complimentery bottled water and pastry. The bed is comfortable and had restful sleep here. The bathroom is compact but has everything you need. Shower and bath tub with a small tv. First time I seen it in Japanese hotel. It was clean and well maintained. Overall, I am very happy with my stay at Dormy Inn Express in Matsue. The checkout is quite easy too. I highly recommend them.

A clean room with a good WIFI. The hotel had a really nice Onsen as well. The lounge next to it had an extensive manga collection (all in Japanese). I didn't pay for the breakfast, but kinda wish I did, since it looked really nice (it was 11 EUR extra).

The staff was friendly and check-in and out was smooth. The location is great and walkable. The breakfast was great with lots of variety.

The Route Inn properties are very similar and we like them. A few things stood out for us in Matsue. We are traveling on bicycles and good secure parking was available. The hotel is in the older historic part of the city and it is a lovely area to walk around especially in the early evening. We felt the breakfast buffet was a step up from other Route Inn offerings. So yes, recommended!

No more and no less that expected: reasonable price for safe, quiet, well staffed hotel. In addition, when asked for advice on local food and places to buy groceries, the staff were helpful.
