The Netherlands in a Nutshell
As the green heart of the Netherlands, the Veluwe features typical Dutch landscapes ranging from wetland to woodland to inland sand dunes. It centres on the country’s most popular national park, Hoge Veluwe - a haven for wildlife including birds, deer and wild boar.
As well as offering cycling, horseriding and walking, the 5,400-hectare park houses the excellent Kröller-Müller Museum featuring the world’s 2nd largest Van Gogh collection, and an eclectic sculpture garden. Other Hoge Veluwe museums include the Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, a Kröller family residence designed by Berlage, the architect behind Amsterdam’s Beurs.
Some of the closest Veluwe B&Bs are in Arnhem, well-known for its role in World War II. This green city on the Rhine proudly remembers its past, but also looks to the future with its state-of-the-art GelreDome events venue. To the west is the university town of Wageningen with its beautiful botanical gardens, while neighbouring Ede is situated by a lush forest.
In the north of Veluwe is Harderwijk, a pretty lakefront town with a popular dolphinarium. Monkeys and apes can roam free in Apenheul zoo in Apeldoorn, a city that also boasts a children’s amusement park and the stately palace and landscaped gardens of Het Loo Palace, a former royal residence. One of the best experiences on booking- highly recommend if you like nature and peace!!!
This place is absolutely amazing and when the time came to leave, we extended our stay.
Before arrival instructions were excellent and the key with the map were easy to find. The 2 bedroom little house we stayed in was brand new, super clean and comfortable. It is surrounded by forest and the first thing you hear are different kinds of birds. It has huge windows and a very nice sitting area outside so you can enjoy nature rain or shine. In our case, the weather in April was really cold (-2 at night) and having the ability to turn the heat up as much as needed was luxury, and having heated floors was the icing on the cake.
The staff is really friendly and helpful. Thank you and we hope to see you again:)

We stayed at De Zanding for a week and were very pleased. The room was clean and comfortable.
EuroParcs don't provide towels.
The team was wonderful! In one of the days we got locked outside of our rental car. Tess from the reception was very helpful to get us a locksmith, and the security guard stayed with us outside for several hours till the locksmith arrived.
De Zanding area is great, lots of stuff to do. The park itself is cute. small pool, a kids playground and restaurants. We mostly traveled in the area and came to sleep mostly.

Location and facilities were nice, plenty of playgrounds for the kids and also kids club with very friendly staff. And a football wall that is a perfect entertainment for kids. If the weather was good, it would have been great.

The breakfast was delicious. The family room was very spacious and they were able to accomodate a travel cot for the baby. Pool and mini golf facilities were a hit for the children too!

Easy to find way around, excellent buses for public transport but remember as elsewhere in Netherlands, its all done on card swipe in/swipe out, no cash accepted. Most things likley to be of interest are at most a bus or short train ride away. Again, surburban stations only operate on card payments and validate ticket before you get on train. Arnhem has a long history, lots more to it than 'just' 1944-45. Many good quality individually owned shops. A very friendly place and esp. if you are British or Polish .People here remember and respect memories. If you want English language books on 1944, recommend the book shop/post office onthe Oosterbrook crossroads in row of shops on south side. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The property is very near the lake, so if you’re into fishing, Keet is your man - he has a wealth of knowledge about fishing in the area and is willing to freely share it with you. You are also within and easy bicycle ride to town so shopping is nearby. Ingrid has some lovely homemade jams for sale too - good on warm toast!!

Oosterbeek is an ideal location for those wanting to study...
Oosterbeek is an ideal location for those wanting to study the location of events surrounding the Battle of Arnhem. I try to get there at the Commemoration weekend in September although be aware that this always the most expensive weekend to stay in the Arnhem area.
I tend to walk everywhere to follow routes taken by units of the British Army in 1944; also you see more by walking. There seems to be a good local bus service and trains too run regularly from Arnhem to other major cities in the Netherlands.

The young staff at the hotel were excellent. There was a large free hotel car park. The dinner was good with ample portions depending on choice of food.
At the time Lunteren was suffering from extensive road works making navigation difficult.

Great location for visiting the sights in and around Arnhem...
Great location for visiting the sights in and around Arnhem and "Operation Market Garden".
Good restaurant, with helpful staff, most of which speak very good English. Expect to pay around £50 per head for a three course meal.
The hotel was quiet, but note it is also a location for concerts and conferences, so at times can be busy. We had a music concert one night during our stay, but this seemed to be far enough from the rooms that we did not hear it at all. When there is a function on, I would advise booking a table at the restaurant in advance or you might be disappointed. There does not appear to be any other eating establishments within walking distance, so if you don't want to eat there you need a car.
Overall I would recommend this hotel to others.

Villa de Berken is located in the countryside some 5km from the centre of Ede. The town is larger than anticipated and has excellent a wide range of shops and supermarkets. A wide range of sporting activities and keep fit centres are spread around the town, which has a railway station offering a link to the main system and several connections to the Snelweg (motorway) network. Being located in the centre of the Netherlands, if is an ideal base for those wishing to explore the countries wide-spread attractions.

We enjoyed the food but one must remember to book a table for dinner you cannot just walk in and expect to be served. The food generally is good with generous portions. Breakfast is very good with lots of choice but again one must book breakfast at reception and obtain a coupon to eat there. We booked a breakfast at reception late one night and were turned away at breakfast because we had no coupon. Reception did not offer us one when we booked the previous night!

Our stay in Ellecom was very pleasant. We especially liked the clean, comfortable room and the rich breakfast selection with plenty of pastries, warm dishes, and drinks. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We didn’t experience anything that we would consider negative , everything met our expectations.
