A beautiful area to explore - so many off the beaten path roads to take to spectacular views, with no crowds. We had bad weather and still enjoyed the spectacular scenery, and the people were all so friendly. Highly recommend this town and the Lofoten Island area!!Guest review byMary JacobUnited States - 10.0
Beautiful town!
Beautiful town! Try to be there when there aren't tour busses full of people. During the summer and the midnight sun it's really pleasant at night. Our highlight was hiking the Reinebringen - twice! Once at night, once in the morning. We also watched for orcas, which we heard were sighted pretty often that week but we didn't see them. Highly recommend staying at the Sakrisoy Gjestegård but it's easiest to get around if you have a car.Guest review byCherylUnited States - 8.0

What i like most about Henningsvær is the mountains and the fishermenn were there boats laying very fascinating towards the mountain. The people very approachable and we've been to one store name engelskbrygge if i'm not mistaken or kiramikk making glasses. She was very nice i asked her what is Henningsvær why a lot of tourists people from other countries visit this place. She explained to me on why, due to mountais, old town, the fish hanging all over the place is fascinating, football field and around that place, the rocks is very special, the waves from the ocean, the fishermann boats laying straight to the mountain, small village but full of life. This place is easy to get around.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Please do not go to Scandinavia Hotel, the manager of the place is simply not human, did not compromise on a small mistake we made in the booking, they do not answer the phones and there was not a single person at the reception, simply a terrible experience.Guest review by3amer ZubedatIsrael - 10.0

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.Guest review byLeonardoPortugal - 10.0

Leknes is extremely convenient if it's the first time you're staying in Lofoten. There are plenty towns to visit within a 1.5 hour range of driving and if we had more time we would have ventured further. We only stayed for 4 nights but it was enough to visit a number of well known towns/villages like Henningsvær, Nusfjord, Å, Reine, and Svolvær. It is a very small town but it has everything you need like a large grocery store, a fairly large mall, some great take away places like Pizza Bakeren, conveniently located charging stations for your electric vehicle, plus some hiking trails very close by which I think is the norm throughout Lofoten in general. The airport was only 7 mins from where we stayed and it's also very easy to get to. The Lofoten Bakeri is a very popular cafe and bakery and has excellent coffee. I highly recommend Leknes as an entry point into Lofoten. Next time I will stay in Svolvær purely because it's a larger city with more connection points to activities etc, and because of it's proximity to popular places further north. You need minimum 2-3 weeks in Lofoten itself if you really want to experience it fully, but I would stay for months if time and finances allowed!Guest review byAradhnaSouth Africa - 10.0
A very dreamy and picturesque town.
A very dreamy and picturesque town. If you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, relax and enjoy the surrounding. This is the place. There is a small pier to walk on. The cinnamon roll in the village bakery is delish! Having a car makes staying here convenient as we drove to different places for food and exploration.Guest review byIvyCW CCanada - 10.0
Such an incredible place!
Such an incredible place! I visited in off season and two out of three days had good enough weather to explore. The third day had the most intense wind I have experienced, so it wasn’t safe to explore. I was happy with this experience but depending on what you want you may want to visit in summer, so that the trails aren’t so muddy. Even when they are, there is plenty of scenic routes to walk in between the towns!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Best place to stay for 2-3 nights to explore the western part of Lofoten. Fully furnished cabin is best so you can easily cook or reheat food as your own convenient time. Most importantly to enjoy the surrounding. Immerse in the serenity atmosphere and just chill 😎Guest review byMahadi BeeSingapore - 8.0

This small town is great base for exploring the Lofoten Islands. Exciying excursions are available across different companies & the scenery is spectacular. Sundays are very quiet with very little open, although nice to see, did make getting quick & cheap food difficult.Guest review byTracyUnited Kingdom
