Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The entire staff was welcoming, warm and helpful and the property is spectacular. As soon as we stepped into the place, we cancelled all plans to go anywhere else during our time in the Douro valley. From the charming, comfortable rooms to the expert and engaging in-house wine tasting to the unforgettable gourmet dinner in the greenhouse to our outing on the river hosted by the owner himself, everything about Quinta Sao Bernardo was exceptional. The highlight of our entire trip to Portugal, by far!!

Exceptional property with the most caring and friendly staff. Everything about my experience at Quinta Valdalagea was amazing. The Quinta is in a great location, breakfast was phenomenal and the staff's attention was superb. The property is rich with history and every detail tells a great story. The owner, Mr. Luis was on-site during my stay and was very attentive and provided great tips for exploring the area and Portugal. The staff was friendly and very hospitable. This Quinta is a must-stay in Douro Valley.

Magical grounds set on the site of an old mill! Impeccably kept with flower gardens, vegetable garden and two pools! All surrounded by a Forrest walk. The staff were kind and helpful! Apartment was beautifully decorated and very spacious. We loved our little terrace and bbq area. The delivery of fresh bread in the mornings was a lovely touch and the honesty shop with local produce was a delight. Would thoroughly recommend coming here and staying to relax or even as a base for the Douro. We will be back!

Dois Lagares House was easily accessible from the train station in Pinhão and walking distance to the restaurants and tours we chose during our stay. The view from the shared living room was spectacular, looking out over the Douro river. The home is clean, bright and tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a walkout to a small patio. The owner, Hugo, and his mother went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. A highlight of our trip to Portugal, for sure.

Great location in Regua, one street back from the Douro. Hotel has a bar area but we frequented the bar/cafe a couple of steps away. Short walk (15 mins) into the centre of Regua where you'll find plenty of restaurants in the vicinty of the museum. Pool access is across the carpark-the hotel provide you with a chitty to gain entry and you need a new one every day. Breakfast was good. Good base to explore the area along and up into vine covered hills above the Douro. Good value.

We stayed there just for one night on our short trip to Portugal (just 7 days) and liked it a lot. The owners of the Quinta/winery are extremely friendly easy going couple that made us feel like at home. We enjoyed their presentation of the Quinta, the tasting of their exceptional wines and especially the presentation of how the vines are produced at the Quinta de Estrada and in the whole Douro valley vine region. Not to mention the delicious home cooked dinner.

Outstanding experience. Property and rooms are well kept to a 5 star hotel standard. Views from the rooms are incredible, overlooking the Douro river and the vineyards across, which is also the view from the fabulous infinity pool. Hosts are amazing. So gracious with information on local things to see and do and restaurants to visit. Had the best meal in Portugal based on their recommendations. We would Definately return and highly recommend.

La casa sa Ponte is perfectly located between many beautiful cities (Porto, Braga, Amarante, Guimarães….) The house is beautiful. Swimming pool is so nice with a view on mountains. But the best is the kindness of Claudio and Ines. Our hosts are absolutely so nice and kind people. They offer perfect suggestions and support for any needs. It’s a perfect place to discover Douro and North Portugal. We enjoyed the 3 weeks in this beautiful house.

Absolutely amazing place to stay during wine tasting tour in Douro Valley. Super friendly and warming people met us there, we were advised about the best wineries to visit and restaurants for dinner, it helped us a lot with planning our trip around. Hacienda itself is a beautiful house with lovely garden, really calm place 5 min driving from the city with a lot of restaurants and Lidl. Hotel has free parking space.

This was the most amazing place that we stayed during our visit to Portugal. Manuel, Daniella, Anita, thank you for making our stay in the Douro so special. The accommodations are lovely, the food spectacular (definitely eat dinner with the wine pairing so carefully curated by Manuel), and the tour of the family home was incredibly special. My suggestion… stay here! You will not regret it!

I am so thankful this small hotel was recommended to us. Our host,Felipe was by far the most gracious person we encountered during are time in Portugal. The hotel was warm with so many extra touches to make you feel at home, and our room had a fantastic view of the Douro River. The house cat,Mia was a kick. If you are in the Douro, I highly recommend you stay at Imaginario d'El-Rei.

A well equipped and clean appartman(house), good base for visiting the valley of Douro, Our hosts (Joana and Marco) made a great job, the way they communicating (friendly, polite and quickly) with us impressed me. The winery (what they recommended to visit), the evening we spent there turned out one of the brightest moment of our one week tour in Portugal. Thanks Joana, thanks Marco!

The most satisfactory accommodation in Portugal, and here it makes me want to visit the Douro Valley again. I went to the wrong accommodation with the same name near Pinhão, but thanks to the kind Beatriz, I was able to find Regua safely. Thank you so much to Beatriz for making our stay even more lovely!! Omly a mistake was that we only booked for one night. Worth a multi-day stay.

Absolutely brilliant!!!! What a beautiful apartment, location is amazing and free parking is a 50m walk!!! One of the best stays we have had so far in our 7 week trip through Spain & Portugal. The combination and directions given from the property via Booking.com were fantastic 😎 and the value for money was amazing. Great base to explore the Douro by car

We were notified by the hotel a few days before we arrived that it was under renovation and that our booking had been transferred to the Vintage House Hotel in Pinhao. We were given a Junior Suite which was lovely with views of the Douro River. Quinta do Portal was still open and we were able to drive there for our wine / port tour, which was excellent.

The Lemego Hotel was a pleasant surprise. We booked it for our stay in the Douro valley and it was a great base to explore. The hotel was modern and comfortable. Pool was great both indoor and outdoor. Restaurant was delicious. The staff could not have been more helpful. They recommend restaurants and wine tastings for us all of which we enjoyed.

We loved staying with Maarten. He’s a gracious host. The wine tasting, bbq dinner and the stories shared were one of the highlights of our stay. The view is incredible and priceless. If we ever get another chance to return to Portugal, Douro Valley/Porto is a must and will definitely would love to stay @ Stay at the winemaker.

Apartment 1 has fantastic views of the Douro River and terraced hillside from the kitchen window and the shared terrace. It also has a window in the spacious bedroom that opens onto a garden for ventilation. (The facilities are superior to Apartment 2). The host is kind and helpful and responded promptly to messages.

The Hotel has very nice location on a river bank. Personal is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is tasty and served in restaurant with a river view on a bridges and Douro Valley. Swimming pool is additional advantage especially during hot days. Definitely recommend the hotel.
