Located on Madalena, Pico Island, Caravelas is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides and overlooks Faial Island. It features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour reception, and car rental. We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

The location is excellent, just around the corner from the ferry, a lovely ocean swimming pool and walking distance to wine tasting and restaurants. The apartment was very nicely decorated, heaps of storage, great air conditioning, well equipped and generally very comfortable and great value for money. There was even a communal washing machine that Patricia kindly said we could use.

The bed and breakfast has private entrance. this place is amazing; a must stay if you are on the island of Pico. The hosts are two of the most lovely people and so helpful in all things related to our time on Pico. The property is beautiful. The dinner they host is basically Michelin star worthy. I really can’t recommend O Zimbreiro more highly. Unique and beautiful.
