Hotel is equipped with first class fitness facilities, enormous pool and complex of saunas is just unbeatable, F&B has several outlets but , most notable Slovak restaurant Vista with amazing menu and very professional kitchen and wait staff . I’ll never forget superior Breakfast buffet service. Front desk, pool and housekeeping personals were above average level.

Perfect location for exploring the High Tatra mountains.

Perfect location for exploring the High Tatra mountains. Very close to restaurants and attractions. Our top tips for attractions within half an hour drive from Smokovce: - Bachledova TreeTop walk - Walk around Strbske Lake - Strednica Parking Photo Point. FREE. A hidden gem. Best views of the Tatra Mountains. Walk down to the 2 lakes. - Hrebienok funicular and Ladovy Dom (this was closed for maintenance but we heard great things about it). Top tip for the most overrated and expensive attraction (i.e. not recommended): Mount Lomnicky Stit cable car by Tatranska Lomnica (we got a return ticket to Skalnate Pleso). Best restaurant in Smokovce: Manuel Caffe & Bistro Italian restaurant.

The place is just beautifull, mountains are greal I love it in different time of the year. Transport is great however if you are paying for cable cars it can get expensive but simillary you will pay the price in different countries. If skying it is worth booking the passes in advance as it saves a lot of money.

Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to...

Nova Lesna is The Perfect Place to stay when you want to visit the High Tatras. It is close, it has great value for money and has some really beautiful places to stay at with spectacular view. I have been here twice so far but definitely will come back every time we want to go hiking in these beautiful mountains. The train is close by and quick, there are shops here and so many options to choose where you want to stay.

Due to recent property developments, Smokovce are no longer the quaint, picturesque village it used to be. It got more crowded and noisier. Nevertheless, compared to Štrbske Pleso or Tatranska Lomnica, it is a good choice for a holiday in the High Tatras.

My 3rd time in High Tatra' and decided to stay for a month...

My 3rd time in High Tatra' and decided to stay for a month this time and loving it! Too many peeks to climb 😉. Very well marked trails with beautiful nature. Plenty of high peeks to climb although for some certified guide is required. And don't be fooled that the highest peeks are not as high as in the alps...it is very hard work and training is required to be able to climb them. Definitely a contender to Alps

It is a small village about 10 min by train from Poprad or...

It is a small village about 10 min by train from Poprad or Stary Smokovec where the mountains start. There are trains at least once an hour in each direction. Clean, very quiet and with a beautiful view of High Tatras. As it is a little village it is hard to find many shops and restaurants there. The nearest supermarkets are Billa and Kaufland near the Poprad station. There is a nice local vine shop in the village and a slovak cuisine krčma (tavern).

Stary Smokovec is a lovely small town along the Electricka.

Stary Smokovec is a lovely small town along the Electricka. Its clean, quiet and lovely. It is a perfect starting point for Slavskovksy Stit hike or through Hrebienok you can have Teryho Chata, Priecna veza, Zbojnicka chata trip within a day. For a post-hike refuel, i warmly suggest to have a Gazda burger in Pizza and Burger Vana. They have a several comfortable seats outside, its quick and tasty. However, dont try to buy grocery after 6, shops are closed in the evening.

Beautiful area especially in early June (15-30) when it's not overrun by tourists. Great for families and larger groups with many activities for each generation. Recommended visits: spa treatment at the Grand Hotels at Kempinski, Grand Hotel, and Hotel Lominca; hiking or taking a cable car to the 'plesa'--mountain lakes.
