I was humbled to visit such a legendary city.
San Francisco

I was humbled to visit such a legendary city. Yet the magnitude of the social challenges that I saw on the street cast a bit of a shadow on the experience. Did not expect. I had a feeling that such hardships and disparities sucked the soul out of the city. I saw nice neighbourhoods and enjoyed culture, but it's not really a place that I'll dearly miss..

San Diego

San Diego left a very positive mark, we loved it there. Everything from Gaslamp, little Italy to Coronado Island was a great experience. I was attending the San Diego Convention Centre whilst my family explored on the excellent tour bus and easily available trollies. Petco Park and the Padres was the best, such an atmosphere. San Diego zoo was great, the restaurants in Little Italy and 5th in Gaslamp are all really nice places to be. I miss it already.

Anaheim

This stay was for an adult trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. The parks are great, and we had a lot of fun, but the area surrounding them is old and run-down. I feel for the residents of the area, as I'm not sure how property values have been impacted by Disney's HUGE presence in the area. If you're heading to the parks, great; otherwise steer clear of the city.

We love Monterey and visit annually.
Monterey

We love Monterey and visit annually. Made the mistake of visiting while schools were off for spring break and included a Saturday. Traffic gets worse every year. No parking available within a mile of Cannery row except for expensive lots. $ 2.00 per hour on street if you can find a spot. Still love the place but never again on a weekend or during spring break.

Santa Barbara

We requested a nice view three weeks in advance for our two birthdays, but we were given a parking lot view. No bottled water was provided in the lobby or room, we had to pay $7 for a bottle, which is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel charging $450 per night.. When we opened the curtains, part of the metal rail fell on us, which was unsafe. No one even asked about our stay. I do not recommend this hotel.

Do not bring children here.
Sacramento

Do not bring children here. The doors do not lock and ACs don’t work. Will charge you for “damaged linens” when they leave the carpets greasy and wet. Avoid the rat bait trap they use in the breakfast food.

Bakersfield

Bakersfield has the best weather during late winter/ early spring. I would advise people to avoid the winter and autumn months as it is regularly triple heat for days in a row. Traffic is around 3-6pm. There is construction around the freeway so be aware of that. Lake Isabella, Lake Ming, Hart Park offer park/ recreation activities. The Padre Hotel is considered one of the more historical places in town that is supposedly hungry. Deward's Ice Cream is a top recommendation as well as Frugatti's.

San Jose has a lot going on.
San Jose

San Jose has a lot going on. I used to live here but for me there are too many people too many vehicles and a very high pressure vibe. The only reason I came here was to visit family and friends. I would personally never come here for vacation. We did go one day over to Santa Cruz and loved that a lot. I would vacation in that area in the future.
