Maryland

Maryland’s best-known treasure is the Chesapeake Bay – a seafood-rich coastline that shapes the state’s identity. Known for blue crabs, maritime towns, and living history, Maryland offers compact adventures. Families find sandy beaches and kid-friendly museums, while solo travelers enjoy historic streets, craft breweries, and easy access to Washington DC.

Top highlights are the Chesapeake Bay and Assateague’s horses. Don’t miss a crab feast or kayak tour. Stay in Baltimore for museums and harbor access, Annapolis for sailing and history, and Ocean City for beaches and family fun and easy day trips.

Room was perfect size for our family of 5 Had a great view.
Ocean City

Room was perfect size for our family of 5 Had a great view. Wish it had a bigger refrigerator but it wasn't the end of the world. It served its purpose. The boardwalk is right there. We thought it might be loud since we were right on the boardwalk but it was fine. We had parking permit and found parking in the designated spot for the hotel every time we went out and came back. We did mini golf. Ate at the Bad Monkey, Crabcake Factory and the Bonfire. Pricy, but we knew that going in. All in all my family had fun and we enjoyed ourselves.

Washington, D.C.

This time of year, you really need to spend most of your time indoors, if you're older. But I wanted to visit gardens. The Hillwood Estate was really lovely, the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens were fascinating and all the garden areas around the Smithsonian Castle had lovely spots to sit and read. My favorite space was the area surrounding the National Museum of the American Indian. The water works, plants and curving lines of the architecture are soothing to the soul. I recommend the Chef's Choice dinner at Nina May, and if you care about coffee, a visit to the Black Crown Collective in the Cannon House Office Building. I wish I had started using the Veo shared seated scooter earlier in my stay, as they were really helpful!

Baltimore

It was the ugliest city I've visited in the US. I went to a BTS concert, and when it ended, I spent 2-3 hours trying to reach some Uber. The downtown collapsed. I talked to other people who went to the concert and had the worst experience in the lodge, with people, and were also desperate with the transportation situation. Keep away from Baltimore, and you'll be fine.

Frederick

Frederick used to be a small farming community when I lived not-too-far away. It is a sprawling, 2nd largest city (in Md) behind Baltimore, grown up city now. Lots of things to do, see, explore. No longer a small farming town but a much more diverse city (w/mild traffic) now. I enjoyed my stay & will return.

Columbia

Columbia is located perfectly, depending in traffic, you can be in Washington D.C., Baltimore, or Annapolis in a short time. The city itself is quiet and not congested at all. Plus the variety of dinner experiences is very enjoyable. I haven't had even a mediocre meal let a lone a bad one in all my visits over the years.

Annapolis

I did enjoy that the room got cold. The pool was not in the best shape, the hot tub was covered by several trash bags duct tapped together, the dry parts were very slippery, the wet parts were very spikey, also the water was slightly opaque. those are all just observations. Inside of the lobby smelled slightly of food that was cooked last week. The staff seemed numb to this. Parking was great!
