We where fortunate to arrive as the seasons first snow storm hit the maintain. As we drove up towards north Carolina we went grom sun to rain to snow. It was awesome. The views once youve reached the top is unsubscribed. Simply breath taking. Even the burger king serveved us a whopper that $30 burger could not compete with. Not sure how its like to live there but to visit there are no words. Well beautiful is definitely 1 of them.
Shortish easy drive from Raleigh. Cute, clean historic riverfront downtown; perfect weekend getaway! Excellent food everyplace we ate: Harvey Mansion Restaurant, Morgan Tavern and Grill (get the crab cakes and one is enough), and Baker’s Square for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed Tryon Palace (take the tour) and the North Carolina Regional History Museum; I could have spent hours in the museum reading and listening to all the audio (very well done). Not a lot of good shopping downtown in my opinion, but worth a browse anyway. Bought a few things at Carolina Creations and enjoyed looking at original art at the Greater Goode Gallery as it is mostly small inexpensive pieces from local artists, which are perfect for a memento. Farmers Market may be worth a quick look, but very little produce in November when I visited. Overall, it was a fun relaxing weekend with a tolerable amount of other tourists.
Quaint, historic village nestled in the mountains of North Carolina. There are many restaurants and shops as well as tourist attractions such as the Biltmore and Jump Off Rock to spark your interest. I look forward to going back to Hendersonville when I can spend more time.
The purpose of this trip was a bluegrass festival. I enjoyed the festival greatly. Parking was a challenge. North Carolina is a pleasingly progressive state with well preserved natural resources and tasty craft beer.
The traffic was not like I’m used to. I live in the middle of nowhere so going to a busier town like that was a big change. It was a fun trip. The North Carolina mall was very fun. They have a bouncy park for the kids.
A picturesque and charming town located in a beautiful part of North Carolina. Many nice restaurants and stores and the nearby Biltmore Estate is a fun place to visit and spend the day.
This state city of Charlotte North Carolina is very pretty however not much to do there - Aquarium a disappointment - too small - location inside mall. The zoo was large in regard to land size but not zoo animals
Maggie Valley, NC is a beautiful mountain town that is known for being a great ski area and gateway to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Small in stature and quaint with perfect mountain charm, this town is great break from the over abundance of commercialism that larger cities have. Small local shops, restaurants, antiques and motorcycle-friendly places dot the streets along with a beautiful fairground for larger community events. Maggie Valley has its seasons, skiing in the winter and lots of other activities in the late spring through fall. I visited Maggie Valley this year at the beginning of April and the town seemed like it was just beginning the wake up from the long winter and businesses were beginning to reopen and bloom, just like the mountain laurel flowers that dotted the sides of the foothills. The air was cool and fresh and with sidewalks on both sides of Route 19, I took frequent walks through the town and explored the local color. Another bonus of this town is that it is home to the Wheels Through Time Museum. This is home to some of the rarest and most interesting motorcycles from our history. Harley-Davidson, Indian, ELK, Thor and Excelcior are just a few of the names you’ll witness from this museum, in which all or most of the bikes still run! Amazing! Maggie Valley, NC is a great town to stay, relax, ride, ski or just enjoy your time up in the mountains of North Carolina.
Small quaint town. The surrounding Mountain areas were absolutely beautiful. Make sure you find the North Carolina 80 Devil's whip. It's a stretch of road off the parkway that is absolutely terrifying to drive. Fun at the same time. Take a pair of dry shorts.
I visited the USA North Carolina battleship which was awesome. I also took the Cape Fear River cruise and toured the Belkamy House, all in one day. Each experience was unique and well worth it.
The hotel was modern with great amenities such as an indoor pool, fitness room, complimentary breakfast, snacks for purchase, guest laundry, elevators, etc. We really appreciated that there was guest laundry on our floor. Therefore, we didn’t have to walk up or down to other floors in order to do our laundry. The staff were friendly. The hotel was located in a convenient area with nearby shops and restaurants. Overall, we recommend staying here, and we plan to stay again if we visit Wilmington, North Carolina again in the future.
Just amazing stay and my wife and I extended 1 more night just so we could see our daughter attending High Point university for one more day. The owner contacted us several times to see if we needed anything. Wanted to go over anything or just a check in with us. It was just wonderful. My wife and I have always stayed at hotels for 20+ years and I think this experience has taught us that we need to look into more deals like this. I know that I will be contacting the owner for future stays at High Point, North Carolina
Wilmington
We booked this stay at the last minute as part of a longer trip. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a quaint hotel attached to the golf clubhouse. Douglas, who checked us in, took his time to tell us about the area and gave my daughter great tips and advice about moving to North Carolina. He was extremely knowledgeable without being ostentatious. The rooms were huge and very comfortable and the location was perfect between downtown Wilmington and the beach! We will certainly stay here again.
Carolina Beach
Just outstanding! Rooms very nice size, comfortable and good amenities. Especially having a pullout sofa was great to give child own bed. Set up well for technology such as usb outlets and plug-ins. Staff is amazing. Friendly, welcoming and make you feel as if a neighbor. Beach is very close. Local dining and within quick drive to Wilmington. Super attractions such as USS North Carolina and Riverwalk. Don't miss getting a cupcake at The Peppered Cupcake, it is amazing. Would gladly return.
The location of the hotel is very convenient. There are nearby restaurants and shops. The hotel was modern on the inside with great amenities such as a pool, fitness room, elevator, complimentary breakfast, snacks for purchase, free mints, etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and kind to us. Our room was spacious and clean. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and if we visit Greenville, North Carolina again, we will definitely stay again.
The hotel is located in a convenient area. There are a lot of nearby restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly. The hotel offered great amenities such as a pool, elevator, complimentary breakfast, snacks for purchase, etc. There were a variety of breakfast items to choose from. Overall, we had a positive experience and will consider staying again if we visit Jacksonville, North Carolina again.
The hotel exceeded expectations, my family and I enjoyed our stay. We traveled from California to North Carolina and unfortunately, we stayed at two locations which lacked any ability to provide a decent service to our family. The Marriot was a blessing and a much needed relief for our family. Honestly, there is not one thing I can say bad about this hotel. Thanks again. 5-Star Hotel!
Upon arrival, front desk was very helpful by quickly getting me settled into a very lovely room. The buffet dinner was outstanding, as well as breakfast which is all inclusive with the hotels rate. A shout-out to Mike who made the dining experience feel just like home. It's everything they say it is. Whenever I'm in North Carolina this is the hotel I'll chose.
I drove down there for 9 hours from Tallahassee to Charlotte North Carolina when I got to the hotel I had booked a three bedroom when I got there they told me they had no bedrooms for me not a one not a two not a three I had to book another hotel this hotel is full of crap you don't want to go there because if your book it you will not get it I was very disappointed
Chapel Hill
cheap; but not value for money. I will never recommend this facility to anyone. I hope you will respond to the concerns i expressed here. This is a matter of public health. Maybe i will report this facility to the appropriate public health officials in North Carolina.
We were stranded in North Carolina due to the winter storm in Toronto. We had no clothes as our bags disappeared so the hotel shuttle drove us to Walmart. They also drove us to a restaurant. The whole staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
Everyone was pleasant. The area is nice and quiet. The room was clean. We booked this hotel The same day to visit the North Carolina Highlands. It was about 40 minutes but the drive was so worth it! And this hotel price can't be beat.
Best part about this hotel is the location Black Mountain North Carolina . Comfortable Bed.
The hotel is centrally located to UNC-Chapel Hill and Durham, North Carolina.
This is the worst hotel I'll live in in North Carolina
Absolutely the best hotel on the cost of North Carolina.
We stayed in room 5008. Beautifully decorated, clean, right on the gorgeous beach!! Definitley will be back!
Clean, nice start too and pet friendly- Breakfast could use a couple of low fat/low sugar options but otherwise much appreciated
Perfect Place to watch the Sunrise. Romantic and down to earth location. Don’t miss out to get the ugly apple from Organe Blossom Bakery around the corner!
Close to beach and local restaurants
