We had an amazing stay at Surfsand Resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt really welcomed and taken care of. The staff was super friendly and kind, and it was such a nice surprise to get a free welcome drink at check-in! There are always hot drinks available in the lobby—hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and apple cider. Such a cozy little bonus, especially after being out in the fresh air. Our room was super clean and felt newly renovated. We loved the comfy bathrobes, the big bathtub, and the fireplace—it all made the stay extra cozy. Plus, we had a beautiful view of Haystack Rock right from our room! One of the best parts was how close the beach is—less than a 2-minute walk, which is amazing, especially with kids. We also booked the beach bonfire for $50, and it was such a fun experience. The staff set everything up and gave us everything for s’mores—sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. It was the perfect beach night! There’s also a warm indoor pool and a hot tub on site, which our kids loved and we really enjoyed too. Honestly, this hotel feels like the most budget-friendly option in the area, but it delivers 100% and even more. Great value for the price. We stayed with our two kids and loved everything—no complaints at all. We’ll definitely be back!

We had so much fun there. We could listen to the ocean waves from inside the room or on the small balcony. It was an easy walk to the beach, and the sunsets were spectacular. We were able to save a little money by cooking our own breakfasts in the unit. It had a kitchenette complete with dinnerware,, pans and utensils.. The weather was cool and rainy so we didn't get in the water. We're looking forward to a summer or fall visit to spend more time on the beach. It was a great experience.

My husband and I loved this hotel. We decided to splurge on a room with a hottub and a balcony facing the ocean. After a long, beautiful walk in the beach right in front of the hotel we came back to a good soak in the tub, sat on the balcony to watch the sun go down and then slept very well in the very comfortable bed.

We loved the room, balcony, and ocean view from our room. We also LOVED the proximity to everything - beach, restaurants, coffee shop, and the e-bikes/dune boards we could rent for free. The king bed and jacuzzi was luxurious, and made for a fantastic mini honeymoon. Will definitely be back!

Hotel has recently changed ownership and is apparently planning renovations. Lack of adequate restaurant is the biggest disappointment. Staff was helpful and friendly. Weather for most of the week was rainy and overcast - two days of sun out of seven. Beautiful scenery and local restaurants have many choices of fresh caught seafood.

Lots of choices for shopping.
Eugene

Lots of choices for shopping. However the city as a whole was dirty and filled with homeless, transient people that filled the streets and sidewalks. They even had fires on the sidewalks, doing heaven knows what. It was a bit unnerving, and fearful. I would never consider taking my children or grandchildren here.

Medford

Medford is pretty much a full service town, offering a wide variety of attractions, nature and dining to fill up any length of vacation. Milder in climate during the winter, if your looking to escape the cold, but winter activities close by. Gets pretty hot in the summer. Spring and fall are beautiful there.

Astoria

The fisher poets gathering is overhyped and not worth the money. Very little actual poetry, and what little there was failed to celebrate the beauty of the ocean or the sea. Mostly folks reminiscing about their days making big bucks halibut fishing. Astoria's downtown is cute with some fun bars, but between the dreary skies, clearcuts, and overt industry (shipping), it's not terribly romantic. More breweries than you can shake a stick at though!
