The location was perfect, peaceful, and historic. The interiors were beautiful, our room was beautiful, not your average hotel room, it was luxurious, the extra amenities on site surprising in the best of ways and the beds perfect!! Best sleep my husband has ever had at a hotel!!! We roasted s'mores on the fire pit, relaxed in the hot tub, and explored the historical iron mining areas on the property. I could easily imagine the site for a family reunion, a wedding, or a business retreat! I will ABSOLUTELY return to Iron Springs Luxury Lodge and Spa!!!!! Don't let the exterior of the building scare you away, they turned historical mining facilities into an amazingly beautiful and luxurious location!!

Staff were amazing and so helpful. We loved getting to meet Aaron, who picked us up from the airport and gave us an insight into Salt Lake City. He let us know that High School Musical was filmed in a school close by! My wife was sooo happy as loves the movies, we visited and was even able to get into the school for photos. The hotel even arranged a station transfer for us 2am when we got the Amtrak for the next part of our journey. Rooms were massive with a great TV selection. We even had a microwave and fridge, which was a nice touch as taking away from meals can be difficult when on holiday. Next to a lovely Mexican restaurant and the pool and in hotel store had loads of options.

Quite an experience! It’s a bit far from town, but the scenic ride to the lodge is stunning every time and worth the trip back and forth. The cabins are cozy, and it all feels so close to nature—swimming in the pool with these breathtaking mountains around you. The breakfast is also high-quality and tasty; enjoy it on the porch for a truly spectacular view!

Salt Lake City

I'm not a Mormon, so it was not a pilgrimage for me, but the scenery was great, and I enjoyed the international aspect of Temple Square, experienced a free organ recital at the Tabernacle, was amazed by the facilities and assistance at the Family Heritage Center, where hundreds of computer stations and volunteers help with family genealogy without prior appointments. Loved the impressions of beehives on the sidewalks and the honeycomb crosswalks for the Beehive State, and enjoyed the upscale mall next to Temple Square that has a creek running through it. Took a fantastic excursion to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake and saw buffalo up close--so memorable.

Springdale

We stayed in Springdale for 2 days to visit Zion National Park and it was really close to the entrance and very convenient. The town had everything we needed, good amount of restaurants, supermarket, a few shops and places to rent bibs and bikes for the park. I'd recommend people stay here if they're visiting Zion.

Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon is my favorite National Park, and I've been to 33 of them. The red and orange hoodoos are amazing! Other-worldly. The views are breathtakiing even from the paved rim trail at the top, you don't even have to hike down into the canyon. It's even better if you do hike down, because you see the hoodoos up close and also the different types of trees and plants, The difficulty of course, is that you also have to hike back up. You can also backpack down and hike the Under-the-Rim trail, but be sure and get camping permits in advance. Whether you're hiking or not, it's worth it to drive the 18-mile road thru the park to the end and see that view, maybe do the 1-mile Bristlecone loop trail at the end. Be sure and stop at the Natural Bridge viewpoint along the way.

St. George

The Children's museum is a little treasure. Our grandchildren aged 3-6 loved it. The murals on the walls were beautiful and we felt the price was affordable. Spent a little over 2 hours there. Snow Canyon offered some easy hikes for our family and beautiful scenery. Jenny's canyon and petrified dunes were easy hikes. We visited when the weather was more temperate, not so hot. There are many beautiful parks and splash pads in the area. The botanical garden was beautiful as well, with some fun rock climbing outside the garden. Different areas to park for different access. We also visited LDS historical sites and attended the LDS temple which were highlights for us.

Awesome location with a lot of natural wonders to look at. Kanab is a nice little town with some atmosphere. Everything you need is there gas, restaurants, grocery etc. Great base to start your tours & trips into the different canyons etc. There is a place where they make nice pizza's but I don't recall their name - but it is GOOD!!! I only went through to Kanab for one night, but I wished I could have stopped & stayed there longer - there is a lot to see & do in Kanab which I found out too late.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley is one of the most beautiful and surreal places I have ever visited. I could not get enough of the views. I booked a back country tour with Navajo Tribal Tours and our guide, Larry, was extremely knowledgeable and easily educated everyone on the tour about the Valley. The next day, I drove through the Valley in my own vehicle and experienced even more beauty. My eyes could not take it all in. My spirit connected to the nature and history of the land. Highly recommended.
