Probably the nicest and best hotel experience I have ever had. The lighting and ambiance from the lobby, bar, room floors, and rooms themselves was absolutely gorgeous. Water and coffee available on every floor, comfortable rooms with updated HVAC systems, nice shower, clean everything. An absolute dream. Even the restaurant's food was legitimately fantastic.

The GMI is an authentic Vermont Inn. Right in the middle of town and a shuttle ride to the mountain in winter. The food in the "Whip" Restaurant is excellent. We ate there both nights of our stay. Pool, gym and hot tubs are clean and the grounds are immaculate.

Burlington

It's a small town, with a few really nice restaurants - many walkable from the Church Street area. Foam Brewery is great if you are into beer. Church Street has a good number of local shops, plus a few of the more typical shops... A couple of days there is enough time to unwind and forget the city for a while.

Killington

This was my second time skiing at Killington, Vermont. It’s an excellent choice for skiing on the East Coast. The slopes are great, the snow quality is good, and the landscape is beautiful. The people in the area are also very friendly and welcoming. This has become my perfect solo getaway for a week of skiing. I hope to return next season.

Stowe

Having lived in and visited Stowe many times, what I can say is that the skiing is usually quite good, sometimes pretty cold, but if you are looking for a challenge it is pretty great. An east coast icon for a reason. The town has some pretty cool spots to eat and hang out(Doc Ponds is great). The parts I don't like are that it can be expensive to stay, even at some mediocre accommodations, so be judicious with the places you choose. Also the feel/vibe can be pretentious like an east coast Aspen which can be off-putting. Parking can be a challenge in the village and the mountain.

First time to Vermont and we loved it.
Rutland

First time to Vermont and we loved it. Rutland is adorable, however this time of year, many restaurants were closed 2-3 days a week. It was a girls trip, but will be back next fall with hubby. Shout out to Bailey’s Place for food and Trivia with TJ was a hoot! They have a designated fryer for those of us with celiac, so that was a real treat. We walked downtown trying to find as many of the murals and sculptures we could, and used Rutland as a base for all our day trips. Their location was central to them all. Don’t miss Wilson’s Castle and enjoy as many Creemies as you can find!

Brattleboro

Breakfast was great but not enough. Staff was rude disrespectful and unprofessional. Too expensive laundry room was small and dryer took too long. 11 large spiders on 4th floor bc of spiders eggs all over the windows that were open. Shower head had a loud squealing sound. Nice beds and linens were soft and amazing

West Dover

West Dover is a charming New England town. It is smaller than some of the surrounding towns, so options for restaurants and other options for entertainment are limited. However, there are other nearby towns that one can easily access and enjoy. West Dover was quiet with minimal traffic. We would happily return

Amtrak station stop right on Main St., Variety of restaurants and values for both the vacationing couple and a family. Vermont Salvage is an interesting place to walk through and marvel at all the great merchandise which is organized very well. Variety of small shops, thrift stores, live music in some of the restaurants, brewery, small parks, pleasant friendly people.

This is what you need to know.
Montpelier

This is what you need to know. I stayed there for 4 nights. 90%+ of the people staying there were middle aged men (like myself) staying by themselves. Most of them were there to do some kind of government work at the State House. It is a great deal for guys who don't care about anything but having a bed, toilet, a lukewarm shower, and literally the same (meh) breakfast every single morning. The staff was exceptionally nice, and from some listening, I discerned that a lot of these guys stay there regularly. Do not bring your spouse here for a getaway. Period.
