Great location in a beautiful town. This hotel really really blends modern comforts with old world charm very very well. The staff were very welcoming and professional whilst the room was comfortable and spacious. It felt like stepping back in time, a really well maintained old building with a lot of character. The restaurant, The Whip was also fantastic.

Surprisingly for the USA, they had proper breakfast which you choose the night before (although the portion was quite small). The hotel is in a pretty vintage house with matching interior and paintings - really set the vibe. Room itself is good enough, no complaints.

loved all the parks and green space. Beautiful waterfront area- lots of places to picnic. Lovely pedestrian marketplace with shops and restaurants. One negative was many homeless people camping on some of the sidewalks.

Great place too stay.
Stowe

Great place too stay. Not difficult getting around or exploring if you have a vehicle. However if you are restricted on what can eat (halal). This wouldn’t be the ideal town / village for you too stay as you would have to drive back down (Montpelier) or back up to (Burlington) for more options which can take anywhere from 35-50 minutes. It is a bit more budget friendly depending on where you end up lodging as Burlington is much more expensive. Can’t complain about my stay for the time I was up here though except for the things I have mentioned. A lot of the things I did weren’t based in Stowe which made the trip more of an adventure going around.

Amtrak station stop right on Main St., Variety of restaurants and values for both the vacationing couple and a family. Vermont Salvage is an interesting place to walk through and marvel at all the great merchandise which is organized very well. Variety of small shops, thrift stores, live music in some of the restaurants, brewery, small parks, pleasant friendly people.

Woodstock

Do your homework and make sure what you want to see will be open. We arrived on a Monday, off season, and many restaurants, shops etc were closed till later in the week. National parks are closed until Memorial Day typically. We found plenty to do but something to consider when deciding when to go. But we also found no crowds, no waiting and that was a plus.

Manchester

We chose Manchester at random and we're very pleased to find that every place we want made accommodations for our dog as well. We found the restaurant to be very good and the price is surprisingly good. When in the neighborhood be sure and check out The Lincoln family home near Manchester, Vermont is Hildene — the former summer residence of Robert Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s son

Excellent value for the money.
Quechee

Excellent value for the money. Close to Quechee Gorge and VINS, a short drive to Woodstock or White River Junction/Lebanon NH. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The facility was pretty good, though the stairwells needed sweeping and the Pergo flooring in our room had popped a little. Overall, very comfortable and pleasant - particularly for the price point - hard to go wrong with this place.

Quaint New England town filled with history.
Bennington

Quaint New England town filled with history. Key in Revolutionaty War and helped VT join USA. Had considered Canada at one time. Ez to navigate around town. Getting there can be rough on some very loaded down roads. Restaurants are often locals. The Blue Benn Diner (it appears) is THE top fav eatery of visitors & locals. May eateries close before 2100 (9:00 PM). Hungry late? Limited to Fast Food Chains or Henneford Foods mostly. Old car ("Classics") Enthusiasts love Bennington Events sponsored by Hemmings Motor News (HQ). On some days 200 to 300 cars & buffs can be seen in town; carefully organized for orderly public visiation. There are a number of religious sites/svcs in a generally irreligious state. Something for almost all perspectives. Weather can be abrupt and violent. Check forecasts closely.

Killington

This was my second time skiing at Killington, Vermont. It’s an excellent choice for skiing on the East Coast. The slopes are great, the snow quality is good, and the landscape is beautiful. The people in the area are also very friendly and welcoming. This has become my perfect solo getaway for a week of skiing. I hope to return next season.

This is what you need to know.
Montpelier

This is what you need to know. I stayed there for 4 nights. 90%+ of the people staying there were middle aged men (like myself) staying by themselves. Most of them were there to do some kind of government work at the State House. It is a great deal for guys who don't care about anything but having a bed, toilet, a lukewarm shower, and literally the same (meh) breakfast every single morning. The staff was exceptionally nice, and from some listening, I discerned that a lot of these guys stay there regularly. Do not bring your spouse here for a getaway. Period.
