With a history dating back to 1180, Kilkea Castle provides accommodation set on 180 acres of woodland, gardens and a golf course. We stayed in the Carriage House. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. It’s interior appointments are stunning. The staff of this hotel were very pleasant and very helpful. The room itself was extremely clean and breakfast in the morning was great…. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was great. Highly recommended…

Mount Juliet Estate is set in 500 acres of Irish Countryside. The historic estate is located in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny and dates back to 1757. Gorgeous property - sad we were only there for one night! If we ever return to Ireland, this will be a place we spend a couple of nights for sure!!

I was hopeful but cautious because I'd read very mixed reviews before we went. But honestly our three nights were absolutely fantastic, the perfect rest. I can't wait to go back. The food was exceptionally well cooked with a good range of choices. The staff (especially in the dining room) could not have been more friendly, professional and personable. It went beyond what I had hoped for and I have bookmarked Mount Wolsley as a perfect getaway and retreat.
