Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI did think it was too expensive, particularly when we booked for 3 nights and the room is not cleaned whilst you stay there. Disabled people require more linen. The bed should be changed every day and more towels and floor mats supplied. Also the ‘complimentary’ water should be supplied each day. The hanging space is too short. The teapot leaked - everywhere. I believe if the room is not cleaned and all linen is not replaced each day we should be charged a lot less.
We loved the location, it was close to everything we wanted to do. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we slept very soundly. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza because of the wheelchair accessible bathroom and it was probably one of the best disabled bathrooms we have ever used. The shower is great for the disabled person as well as the able-bodied. It had a shower curtain!!! The shelving unit for towels/tissues etc was within reach. The Bar downstairs was very inviting and we enjoyed the cocktails a couple of times.

GuernseyI had asked if we could have a bedroom with a bath. I was informed that only suites had baths.
The staff were very helpful. The bedroom was spacious and clean. We ate dinner in the Hotel restaurant on our first evening and, although the menu was quite small, the food was very good. I especially liked the roof top swimming pool which I used before breakfast both mornings.

AustraliaIt's a little pricey.
Cleverly furnished, modern well appointed rooms with an air of luxury. Large soft comfortable beds. Our room was very quiet as the windows did not face the street. Location. It's not really Darling Harbour. It's Hunter St (10 min walk to Darling Harbour, Town Hall, Chinatown). The staff were friendly and pleasant to talk to.

New ZealandI booked a standard room with 2 single beds for my sister and myself. My sister has limited funds as a pensioner. They said that this configuration was unable and we had to upgrade to 2 x queen beds at and extra cost of $180 for the visit. I was very unimpressed with this. If we were able to book this why was it unavailable. Not very happy. May reconsider staying here in future

AustraliaThe carpet could do with replacing. It didn’t smell great and was stained. We asked for a twin room and got a queen (didn’t matter this time). Trays left outside from previous guests for several hours. The basin and soap were too high for a child to reach, I had to lift my six year old up each time.
The beds are very comfortable and the shower is good. It’s a really handy location with plenty to do and accessible to the train station and ferries. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The room service staff member was lovely. Decent bathroom and coffee making facilities. Lavender mist for the pillows was a sweet touch.

AustraliaThe restaurant was absolutely terrible. Weird pasta menu on the Saturday night and it wasn't quality food at all. Regret eating there because a pub meal would have been better. Weirdly for 49 dollars each you had to share(!) a dessert. It was the smallest panacotta you've ever seen but the saving grace was that it was better than the all you could eat pasta served. For 560 a night (breakfast included) it wasn't value for money at all because the food wasn't great (breakfast was average) and the shower didn't work properly and the pillows were uncomfortable. We did really appreciate the upgrade and they were all friendly and so we feel bad even mentioning it because the hotel itself was actually great!
The hotel kindly upgraded us and gave us a bottle of wine in the room to celebrate our 3rd weeldding anniversary and we're so grateful. That was very thoughtful and the reason why were giving the stay a good rating. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The room was clean.
