Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaSingle bed was a bit too short for my height. Got access codes on the last moment. Weekend evenings may be a bit noisy as in the same building is a pub.
Very good location and clean.

AustraliaExpectations were met. A bit of noise crept in from the footy on the TV downstairs in the pub, but not unexpected.

AustraliaThe room was slightly stuffy but there was a fan - it was also a little noisy but there were earplugs provided; I'm not noise sensitive. Honestly, for the price, these are very minor concerns! I'd also note the shared wash areas were not all equally clean/inviting.
The location is perfect. I loved the easy keyless entry and I was amazed at how lovely the room was - plus the shared kitchen; this far exceeded my expectations. Also, the shower/toilet areas were never busy.

South Korea0 soundproofing. Could hear steps outside, tram, everything. Difficult to sleep. No dryer or paper towel in toilets. Shower was fine but ceiling was getting mouldy
Very good location, nice pub downstairs, very good price, self check-in at any time

New ZealandProbably my main complaint would be the bed, mine was really creaky which was annoying, and it's not exactly the most comfortable bed, but if you sleep reasonably well then it's fine. Basic, but fine.
Actually quite a nice room for the price I paid (~$80). It's basic and an old building, but you can tell care has been taken to install reasonably nice locks, the chair in the room was good enough for me (nice enough, it may be from Kmart or something but I'm happy with that) and the carpet in the hallway and facilities are nice enough. When I was there I found all the guests to be respectful/quiet and everything was tidy, which was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting it to have some less desirable characters lurking about. There's also a tram stop right around the corner so it's an easy place to get to/from as well.

PortugalThis hotel is in a super convenient location right next to a tram stop, and in an interesting inner city neighbourhood with lots of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. It's really good value, and having the use of the shared kitchen helps save on meals. The staff are very kind and friendly. It was not too expensive to get an Uber their from Melbourne airport when I arrived.

United StatesThere is no air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable even with fan on. I tried to keep window open but it was very loud with traffic all night long.
The location was excellent. It was also easy to check in.

AustraliaStiflingly hot. But, otherwise, comfortable in the event of no heat wave. My room faced north and received a lot hot sunshine. But I enjoyed my stay there.
I stayed there during a heart have. My room was very hot and stifling. The fan provided in the room by the facility I used throughout the day and evening.

I used to gig at this hotel so it was fun to stay upstairs. Bit of a weird experience, never met anyone, codes for gate and doors, shower across the hall.

LithuaniaMy room had a fan but actually it was still very hot and dry.
I liked that everything was clean! I asked to enter my room earlier and staff made it happen. Thank you for that! If you like second hand shops and nice restaurants its perfect place to stay.

AustraliaFew complaints, given the cheap rate of room. Different set-up in smaller shared toilet, as in no wash-up facility. The toilet across the hall had one. Neither toilet had a hand-dryer or even paper towels. Shower had the body lotion etc. Products located in a wire basket OUTSIDE the actual shower recess. Reach around. Shower taps not clearly marked as H or C.
The low price. The ease of secure access.

United KingdomOnly downside was that when we got to the property we were given check in details for the wrong room and ended up going into a room where another couple were staying. As we were checked in late we were at a loss for an hour trying to book other hotels. Luckily we then saw someone on site who helped us and advised we’re in a different room. We were not happy at the time but the hotel were very professional about it and refunded us for the night straight away, really happy with how it was handled.
Lovely clean rooms with decent space and nice decor! Shared toilets and kitchen were also always clean, we felt comfortable here.

AustraliaBecause the hotel is so conveniently located it can be a bit noisy. They do provide ear plugs for free but I would ask for a room on the Brunswick St side if you are sensitive to noise.

United StatesThe staff forgot to message me entry details but were very fast to respond when I wrote. I might recommend a female specific toilet…sharing with men can a little ick. By the end of the day the bathrooms often had a urine smell from men ‘missing’ the toilet. Not a fault of the hotel’s by any means but something to consider.
Great location in Fitzroy. Nice to have a kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms/showers available to use (shared). Room was a decent size and the blackout curtains were a plus.

AustraliaMy room had a smell like not gonna lie sort of like a public bathroom that had been cleaned which wasn't great. Having to pull out my phone for all the door codes was a lil annoying but it's self service so understandable. It was a lot smaller than expected but it was cheap so I'm not complaining.
I loved how central it was to everything it was a good location just for a couple nights for a single person. I was able to stroll into Melbourne central like it tooo about 30mins but that's a nice walk for someone like me. I wouldnt take my mother here but for someone just traveling it's perfect ! It's affordable and easy to get in to ! I stayed in the room right by the door which I didn't have an issue with the noise. They do provide earplugs if you want in the common area.
