Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hostel contains cats. This isn't mentioned on the booking website which needs to be fixed. The first time the cats are mentioned is at check in, when it's too late to change your plans. The hostel keeps the cats away from the second floor to cater to people with allergies (the cats are only allowed on the first floor). The problem is the common area is also on the first floor and the couches and seats are all covered in cat fur. If you like cats you'll have a great time. If you're allergic to cats like me you'll be forced to avoid the common area. Definitely don't sit on the seats unless you're willing to get covered in cat fur.
The hostel location is good. The rooms on the second floor are quiet (first floor rooms are noisy). Rooms are spacious.

No curtains on beds and no breakfast :(
Basic hostel but clean and comfortable, good price, great location, free coffee, bathrooms cleaned regularly, reasonably priced laundry facility, popular bar downstairs attached to the hostel. Good friendly vibe, overall good value for money and would stay here again

Rules that we need to accept upon arrival but not written beforehand on the booking website. Cats that shouldn't be around the kitchen for hygiene purposes. As a hostel for tourists, there's no (international) socket that can be used to charge the phone. Not even for USB. The room needs renovation, basically.

It should be cleaner, the windows need to be thicker. You need to have privacy screens per bunk. You need to have the lights on the window on the outside, turned off so that people could actually sleep.
I didn’t know there was breakfast. I didn’t have breakfast. I didn’t stick around long enough to find out if I could or could not have the breakfast. I didn’t realize the hostel was that close to East Hastings I was up all night with people, swearing, and yelling and throwing up, the windows are super thin. The lights are very bright. The curtains go from the top of the window to the bottom of the window. There’s no separation between the bunkbeds as to curtains it was a horrible sleep. I got there as fast as I could, and I probably am not going to stay there again. But the staff were nice,

VERY loud music on Tuesday night- I'm not bothered by a bit of noise but on Tuesdays they have "Loco Tuesday" and the beds were literally trembling with the bass. I couldn't fall asleep until they finished at 2 am. Overall cleanliness could be better too, but it was acceptable for a hostel.

Very loud music from the bar until midnight. The shower is too small there are no enough room to put the personal stuffs.
Even the building looks very old but the room keeps really nice clean.

The guy in charge of the bar was rude with a customer of the hostel due to a ridiculous rule they have to not enter their bar from inside the hostel which causes a lot of fights with travelers. this rule has to change if they wanna welcome people The kitchen has little rats going around so they should definitely get rid of them
The room was really good and housekeepers always check and clean it. Excellent on that part.

the showers werent very good ann not much space to put the stuff. my room was suposee to be a room with a view but they put me in a room facing a rusty wall and said there was no more availability, that wasnt very great.
the cats were so CUTE and the beds were quite comfortable. the bar attached to the hostel is pretty fun too and the location is great, just be carefull not getting close to hastings st.

On weekends only book if plan to go for please 2 AM as they got Karaoke Club Bar downstairs Ypu will be not be able to sleep. Or else you fine considering location

The staff at the front desk(A female staff) was oretty rude and a bit rude. She was super rude, She was working the 25th December morning. She was so friendly and nice with other customers while had a mocking tone with me.

The washroom had ridiculously small shower and no privacy without being a houdini, nowhere to put anything or hang clothes or towel except outside the shower. Staff weren't helpful, and there was no information on what to do in and around the area.
Location was excellent. Within a short walk from transport and attractions. The room was a separate room and was adequate for the purpose. The bar and food was quite good, nice atmosphere.

No privacy curtains on beds. Could hear every single noise (keep in mind it is an old building). Bathrooms are average. Very small.
