Positive section of review
This place is really clean and the room was very nice. Check in is kinda weird as there is zero staff, everything is automated and you're sent codes to access rooms and stairways and such, which was irritating at first (we were so tired when we arrived), but we quickly got used to it. Parking is pretty convenient and it was an easy, longish walk into the center of town. A pretty decent value for a hotel in the city.

An entire apartment to yourself in a quiet, safe location. The bed was comfortable and the blackout shades were helpful to block out the light. Location close to bus stop 12, where many of the tours leave from. Price was reasonable by expensive Reykjavik standards.

Location was a bit of a walk to town center and Laugavegur St. I'm a frequent walker, so this wasn't an issue for me, but it might be for someone else. Of course, this is a moot point if you have a car.

The Old Bookstore

This place is adorable and the proprietor is very proud of his family's heritage here and he'll tell you all about it if you visit him in the book store downstairs. And you should because it's a really cool shop.

They have a museum on site with some excellent fossils on display. Very attentive staff on hand for breakfast. Like all of Iceland, the views were awesome.

It is a really nice little studio unit. Everything is clean and everything works. It would be a nice place to spend a few days.

The price. It was EXPENSIVE! I realize Iceland is expensive, but this is worth $350 a night, not $520 a night. Also, there is a plumbing issue in he bathroom that allows a slight smell of sewage to be present. After getting over the beautiful smelling scent they put in the unit, you will notice the sewage smell in the bathroom. Seems like it is a drain trap that is not built properly.
