My stay at the hotel was generally good, but I would like to share a few points for future guests. The humidity level in the room was extremely high, probably due to the local climate. If we turned off the air conditioning even for a short time, the room and the floor would become very damp. On one occasion, I also found a cockroach inside the room — which I believe may be related to the surrounding vegetation. What disappointed me the most was the breakfast. I found it quite limited, with many options that were too local and not suitable for international guests. There were lots of savory dishes like rice and hot foods, which are not commonly eaten for breakfast in many countries. I understand cultural differences, but I think a few more international options would improve the experience.

Phangan Pearl Hostel

Positive section of review
The main benefit is only that it is walking distance for the full moon party at Haad Rin. Also close to restaurants and 7Eleven nearby. Rooms are spacious, with cabinets to lock valuables, and toilets are plenty and decent. Aircon and wifi works well. It is a quiet hostel away from the main party hostels. Even on Full Moon night, my dorm had only 4 pax out of the 12 beds. Which is a good thing for me to enjoy some peace away from the partying.

It is very expensive for the level of comfort as a hostel dorm, but is just the price hike for the Full Moon Party which I think is still reasonable. I felt quite uncomfortable for security and cleanliness reasons as there was no staff around at all throughout my stay (besides the 1 minute of check in). On the immediate morning after the Full Moon Party, most guests check out that day and the hostel became a ghost town, I think I was the only person there - and housekeeping didn't even come to clean up the dorm after the people who checked out, so the room remained messy and there's no staff around to ask for any help. No hair dryer for the ladies.

The location was perfect—right in front of Patong Beach and close to everything. The pool area was beautiful and spacious. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The room soundproofing could be better—we could hear some noise from the hallway. Also, the breakfast options were a bit limited and repetitive.

The property is beautifully landscaped and a short walk away from Fisherman’s Village. The food at their restaurant is delicious. Mimi and all the other staff did a fantastic job taking care of us.
