Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe hotel should have told us to book a taxi to the hotel from the beach where we arrived by boat. All other passengers from the boat were picked up but we were left on our own with luggage till we managed to get a lift with another traveller's taxi.
Javier was an excellent guide for the Corcovado National Park with a deep love and knowledge of nature and respect for the huge number of animals he pointed out to us. We also enjoyed his bird spotting tour, and the photographs he took for us. This was a highlight of our trip. He also gave us advice for the rest of our trip in Costa Rica which proved very valuable.

A great place to stay in Drake’s Bay. Picked up in a taxi from the boat and dropped back at the end of our stay, even though it’s only a 7-10 min walk. It was included in the price. We liked it so much we extended our stay by 4 nights. Great kitchen. We cooked every day. Struggled to find fresh food in the 3 supermarkets though - slim pickings on fruit and veg. Everything was so clean at the house - the lady who cleans there daily is lovely and does a fantastic thorough job. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the ac was much needed. Eat at Claudios Grill on the bay if you want a meal out.

United StatesI wish there had been screens on the windows.
I loved the layout and the home like feel. Sharing the bathroom with 2 other rooms was no problem. The air conditioner worked great, the fan was perfect. The kitchen was very well stocked and useful.

United StatesDespite our best efforts, it was really difficult to dry any of our clothes. Part of that is the problem of being in the jungle, but there wasn't really anywhere to hang the clothes to catch a breeze or sun. Our room didn't have any access to a breeze so nights could get pretty stuffy.
Javier was an excellent host and guide. You can really see his passion for nature, particularly bird watching. His night tour, Corcovado day tour, and bird watching tour were enjoyed by our entire family. The kitchen area provided a nice place to make meals or smoothies.

United KingdomCharming accommodation with very welcoming hosts. Comfortable beds and a good warm shower. Lovely kitchen and outside covered seating area. Javier upgraded us to a room with AC which was very kind. We also took a Corcorvado tour with Javier and it was a fantastic experience as he is such a knowledgeable guide

SwitzerlandNo mosquito net or hook to hang one over the bed. There is AC and fans, but these don't work when there is no power and are not as reliable. Be aware that breakfast is only included on the days you have booked a tour.
The tours in Drake Bay are quite pricey, but at least in our experience worth it! The day trip to Sirena with Javier was amazing and the highlight of our holiday. He is a great guide who still marvels at nature despite the years of experience. The trip was very enjoyable, and we were lucky to see so many animals. Comfy common area in front of the little kitchen. Clothes lines outside for wet clothes. Good supermarket close by.

NetherlandsThe location is a bit further down the road at the bottom of the hill. Only a bit of an issue when arriving with full backpacks. However, you can arrange a pickup through the owners.
The rooms are spacious and equiped with an AC. The kitchen is well equipped en very clean. The owner, Javier is also a guide in Corcovado which makes it very easy to book tours through him. He led us on a great tour to the la Sirena station and gave us valuable advice on which activities to prioritise.

ItalyThe rooms are fully made non wood so they can get really hot (anyway there is a air conditioner for 5$ a day) The door of our room didn’t locked properly. The taxi driver recommended from the owner hasn’t been professional has described.
Kindness, it is next to a restaurant that does buffet breakfast from 5 am for $10. The hotel has a nice shared kitchen and a place to wash and hang your laundry.

SwitzerlandIt is not the best place to connect to other travelers, as there are only few rooms. But there is a nice chilling area you can enjoy relaxing hours.
I really enjoyed staying a few days at casita happy feet. Especially the day tour into the nationalpark with javier was an experience I will never forget. With his special skills in hearing, smelling and imitating animal noises we could discover a lot of animals. Thank you a lot for this trip!

CanadaWell, the fact that we had to share a bathroom with 2 other rooms which were on the same schedule as us. Bit busy inn the mornings. But that was to be expected so no surprise. The place could use some sort of advertising or at least a sign to make it more identifiable
Very cozy, the meeiting place or dining area was very sympathic. We got to meet the other guests and share our expriences. Javier, who we also took the Corcovado tour with, was very knowledgeable and I recommend to eveyone staying ther to book the tour with him. Just fantastic. Overall we were very happy with our choice and will recommend to future travellers.

GermanyThe communication beforehand was a bit bumpy but once you are there it's all good :).
The mattress and the pillos were very comfortable. The common area infront is very cozy, with hammocks and there is bookshelf full of content about costa rica wildlife. The location is great too - close to the market and to the beach. You can arrange all kind of tours with or via Javier. He also reservs a seat for you in case you are taking a boat from Sierpe.

GermanyThe shared bathroom was clean in the morning but got dirty throughout the day. It costs extra to be picked up from the harbor. We had to walk about 10-15 minutes uphill with luggage. However, if we had paid extra, we could have arranged to have been picked up.
Javier was an EXCELLENT guide and very sweet. I highly recommend him for tours of Corcovado. He speaks English well, works very hard and is truly passionate about wildlife and the national park. The room was clean. Nice communal kitchen that is clean.

United StatesEverything was as advertised. Know that there is a shared bathroom and it is located on a busy street. So it won’t be quiet and peaceful. Important to me was that it is located close to town and a short walk to where the pick up area for the tours. And it delivered. Very good value for the price.
The property was very clean and Javier was very helpful setting up tours and transportation to the airport. Javier is a guide at Corcovado and is connected to the guiding community so he will set up tours that work best for your schedule. The guidebooks say book the tours months in advance so I was anxious that the they would be full. I needed to just chill out and know everything would be handled properly. And It was. Don’t expect a lot of communication before arrival —everything will be good. Pura Vida! Bring cash for the tours.

GermanyMy stay was at Casita Happy feet was great. Javier and his family make sure you feel like home. The place feels very safe and clean and the kitchen offers everything you need. The room also offers an A/C what is very convenient with the heat. Also the location is very central but still calm and relaxed. It's not even 5 minutes of walking from the beach, a supermarket is in the same street and many restaurants are close by. As Javier is also a tourguide he can tell you a lot about the wildlife and the surrounding area. I did a tour with him to Corcovado and is was really good. Also, he did a bird watching tour with me. If you want to do other tours he helps you with the booking. I would definetely recommend his place.
