The sign of policies on the inside of our door stated that 12 noon was checkout time, but a kind of grumpy employee was knocking on the door at 11 saying we had to leave. That wasn't fun. Bathroom walls had some toothpaste splatters and hand prints from previous guests, so cleaning could be a bit better.

The location right on the beach was the best. There's nothing better than being able to come and go from the room for bathroom breaks and snacks/water and back to the most beautiful part of Espadilla beach in a minute or less...all day long! The shower for rinsing off at the beach entrance was great. Also, being right on the road made it very easy to use the local buses for transportation anywhere we needed to go. Being walkable to the park and the shops and restaurants near the park was also a huge plus. We had a corner room with 2 queen beds which was nice. It was on the uppermost level, so our corner of the balcony area was where the monkeys came down from the roof and hung out every morning. It had a large closet (with a safe) and kitchenette, and the mini split AC worked perfectly. I felt the beds were very comfortable (firm, but that is my preference). The restaurant was very good for a filling breakfast with the freshest fruit and seriously delicious coffee. The pool was clean and lovely with plenty of chairs and loungers. The price really can't be beat, and we were not expecting a super luxurious place (nor would we want one), so all of my expectations were met or exceeded. Yes, there are areas where updates could happen, but then I'm sure the price would not be reasonable and the whole experience would change...maybe not for the better.

Room was not very clean. Eg ceiling fan covered in dirt, and under the bed was disgusting. Kitchenette missing basic utensils, no kettle and only a single cup coffee machine.

Location is amazing, straight onto the nicest bit of the beach. Facilities were basic but functional. Pool was surprisingly good.

The bathroom was so small you had no room to sit down on the toilet without hitting your head. The beds were not comfortable.

There is nothing I 'don't like' about the hotel, i just think it's important for other gringos to know that it is a nice 'tico' hotel, not a luxury resort. It has everything you need, none of the unecessary luxuries you might get at a snooty hotel.

I have been here before so my expectations were met perfectly. It is not a luxury hotel but it is excellent value. A reasonably nice hotel right on the beach with extremely helpful staff, excellent onsite restaurant and only a short walk to the touristy area. We absolutely love staying here and will always come back!

Pool area was not clean. Power went out regularly. Bugs in the room.

i didnt like that people where in the pool till 12 am and too noisy and another night people were outside their room talking and laughing and no one to call to see if they could quiet them down.

No coffee in the room. No shampoo and the water tap was older so the water pressure was not great. Other than those small inconviniences the hotel was amazing!

A bit of a clean up of the sun loungers would help as they looked a bit dirty.

The room was spacious and clean, with added bonus of kitchette complete with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The air con was great (nice and quiet). Lovely view of the pool and closesst room to the beach - which you could walk onto in less than one minute.

Liked having the apartment so we could cook breakfast and dinner. Nice walk along the beach to town. Pool nice and refreshing. Like that we could rent boogie boards right at the hotel. Lifeguards on the beach. Nicely priced Fresh brewed coffee at front desk.

Only 2 chairs round the table. Thought there were better cooking facilities. Fridge leaked one day and something in the bathroom another so lots of wet floor!

Nice pool, easy access to beach, comfortable, quiet. Bag storage for the day we checked out. Lots of wildlife. 10 minutes walk to national park. Ready access to restaurants

Beds were hard, not many pillows

The location was great… direct access to a beautiful beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to the Manuel Antonio Park National Park. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Boogie boards as well as beach towels were available to rent.

There available gate or easy access to the parking so I had to walk under the rain to go to the parking even when there was a gate available it was for admin used only The breakfast taste was not good at all
