Room a bit dated, quite expensive for a room that felt like a « staff studio » below the roof (which was quite warm for a sunny Hamburg week-end), expensive breakfast (not bad, but not worth that price)

Perfect location at the heart of Hamburg, close to the Uni and a walking distance from Dammtor. Particularly if you're interested in Kosher food, there are several options right next door. Very clean and quiet. Very helpful staff.

I found it rather expensive, though other hotels at this location had similar prices at that time. The rooms could use an update, though the bathroom was impeccable and nice. Wireless was poor (main house).

It is a charming hotel in a residential area of Hamburg, close to the university. Breakfast is fantastic and staff very friendly. Nice shower!

The interior is quite old and doesn't match the nice building. The bathroom was very narrow, hardly any room to lean over the sink to rinse your mouth for example. No way to keep the room cooler in the summer (Bring your own fan!).

The location is very goog, nice neighbourhood and close to Dammtor station. The hotel room was clean.

I went to the bar one night was surprised that bar staff could not serve me a hot non alcoholic drink.

The location was close to a major rail line and a museum. It had lovely period features. The staff were generally friendly and welcoming. It was no problem to borrow an iron I would have like a kettle though.

1. The WiFi is awful and it only works after connecting and disconnecting several times. 2. There is no fan or AC. I requested a fan but they didn’t have one. It gets quite warm in Hamburg these days in July and keeping the balcony door open all night is not feasible. 3. They don’t do late checkouts.

The room was beautiful , spacious and comfy. The location is excellent.

I am of an age when I am hesitant about having to climb into a bath tub to have a shower. The matresses were very soft. And I needed a second pillow.

The charming hotel near the Alster lake, university and city center offers big, comfortable rooms and bathrooms as well as an excellent breakfast. It covers several end 19th Century houses in the villa quarter close to the railway station Dammtor Bahnhof. It is not the first time I have stayed there and will not be the last time.

No electric socket by the bed

In a nice quiet location 8mins walk from S-Bahn and U-Bahn. The building dates back to the 1880s so has plenty of character but the room had all the expected facilities. WiFi worked well and the shower was hot.

It’s a very old hotel, but renovated properly but maybe the decoration and the furniture had to change to have a more charming and modern outlook.

Rooms are big and have high ceiling. Bed is very comfortable. Totally it is clean and the people are very nice.

A minor downside was the absence of a kettle or cups for making hot drinks, along with no refrigerator.

The hotel's building and my single room were beautiful and inviting. The room was not only clean but also very comfortable, contributing to relaxing stay.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was really big, very comfortable and quiet. The location was ok, 700 meters away from Bahnhof Dammtor and its just 1 station away from the Hamburg hauptbahnhof.

From the 4th floor where I stayed landscape views were not well visible due to upper located window and it was a little stuffy.

I found hotel Vorbach very comfortable. Great location, attentive staff, very, very clean room and bathroom, free WiFi. I recommend everyone to choose this hotel for their stay, especially if their business trip is connected to the University of Hamburg.
