Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyBreakfast was good, even though not much variety present. Koi fishes are adorable. It could be cleaner in the room. The room was complemented by a huge spider web right on the corner where curtains are. Beds were narrow.

ItalyNo air conditioning but I was given a fan as it was hot. Rooms are a bit outdated. Breakfast was awful for €12. Not much of a selection and no warm food. I had to ask for housekeeping to clean my room and change my towels my room was cleaned 1 out of 3 days. WiFi is terrible. The hotel could be great if they actually invested some money in it and people cared.
Comfortable bed , 10/15 min walk from the town and opposite a small train station.

SwitzerlandThe internet connection is bad, and there's none in the (otherwise very nice) business lobby - dropped out of a Zoom meeting 3x in an hour. The rooms could do with some redecorating, they are a bit old fashioned, and the dead deer heads on the wall above the bed should definitely go. I'm not sure about the (living) fish in the lobby pools: they are beautiful, but is it good for them to live in a 30cm shallow pool? They are big, I think they should be in a decent aquarium.
The room was fine, quiet, comfortable. The hotel lobby is huge and nice to sit at. Breakfast was fine. The location is great, just by a little local train station and 10' from the main station.

GermanyThis hotel was perfect for me - I was on a train for 7 hrs, ran a 10K in Bräunlingen, then walked to Donaueschingen, and this place provided exactly the satisfying rest I needed. The staff were so pleasant (and spoke English, which made my life easier), everything was straightforward, the decor was very fun, and the room was clean, super comfy, and quiet. It was excellent value for money and I would absolutely stay there again.

RomaniaThe rooms do not have air conditioning and when I first entered the rooms I thought I had stepped into a sauna. The staff could at least draw the curtains on the unoccupied rooms so that there is no greenhouse effect.
The rooms are nice and the staff was doing their best.

United KingdomTh only thing I didnt like is the room decorations. why on earth the have artificial heads of dear over the bed. I also think that the main hall with a pond and fish is out of date. It must cost a lot to maintain it. They also use 100s of old type of lights not LED so it must cost fortune in upkeep. Plase needs updating and sizing down.

GermanyThere was nothing that I didn’t like, the hotel met all aspects of my stay.
The welcome at the check in and check was very friendly, the night staff again very friendly. The room was very large with plenty of space for storage and also my luggage, I especially liked the animal heads above the bed. The hotel is near the railway but you get used to the sounds of the trains, it wasn’t a problem for me and I would stay here again. There is a supermarket 10mins from the hotel to the left and a nice bar 10mins to the right past the railway bridge.

United KingdomThe obscene heat! I stayed for 3 nights at the end of a spell of hot weather. When I entered my room, the temperature was insane. It was ludicrously hot. I wanted to turn the AC on, but no AC! I would have thought a large multinational hotel chain would provide AC rooms, but they don't. They didn't even provide a fan! The bedding was the usual thick duvets, which obviously cannot be used in such heat - thin sheets were needed, but not provided. The windows in my room were closed on arrival, trapping the heat in. Upon opening the windows, the room cooled a tiny bit. It was still damn hot. I had to keep the windows open all night to stop the temperature getting up to obscene levels again. My room overlooked the road and railway. Not much road noise, but plenty of railway noise. The icing on the cake was the church across the road. Their clock and bell tower chimes every 15 minutes and 'bongs' on the hour between 6am and 10pm. So with the window open due to the obscene heat, the church woke me (and half of Donaueschingen) up at 6am! The choice was either window shut and melt, or window open and a 6am wake up call. I did not sleep well due to the heat (and due to the inconsiderate church). After my 2nd sweaty night, housekeeping took the easy option. They didn't replace my sweaty bed linen or pillowcases. They just made the bed up with the exisiting linen, with all my sweat stains still visible. I can't recommend that anyone stays here in the summer. Whilst it is a nice and well presented hotel, the heat was borderline unbearable. Coupled with the 6am wake up call, its simply not comfortable.
My room was very clean and well presented (well apart from those animal heads on the wall, they are just weird and really should be removed). All the room facilities (TV, fridge ,shower, etc) all worked well. The bed was comfy.

Germany- room very loud, in front of a main road with heavy trucks and in front of busy train track - never seen such a narrow single bed, was probably designed for a child, very dangerous to sleep in, was about to fall out all the time - no A/C, room was really hot - poor quality WIFI, impossible to work - staff at check-in and in the evening could barely speak German, and was not really friendly - no minibar in the room, no bar open in the hotel in the evening, just a very tiny fridge at reception, with nearly no choice.., - curtains too thin, was awake at 5h00 in the morning with so much light in the room - all facilities at the hotel closed (for quite a while,as it seems...) - hotel is old, and was not renovated - the ramps to access the parking are so narrow, I guess the architect believed we all drive Fiat 500 or smaller; really difficult and dangerous
nothing !
