Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDifficult to get a cab there late at night. Television didn’t work or there were no instructions on how it should work. I didn’t contact reception- I’m sure they would have been able to help me though as they were all very helpful.

DenmarkNothing - except I was not aware that it was necessary to book table in the restarant in advance. It could be a good idea to inform this more clearly.
Very service minded staff and also because of them we had a great evening. Dinner was excelent and to a fair price.

SwedenSlow and low service at bar. The outdoor seating does not have any additional service, lunch, coffee etc. Remember Bandholm does not have any other coffeshops, stores or restaurant, so you have to rely on the hotel. Language skills by front dess straff is poor, far better in the restaurant.

SwedenThe restaurant was not open on Mondays even though we were informed in advanced (by sms) that it should be. This was a mistake by Booking. com it seems but considering the good standard of the breakfast we would have loved to have a dinner at the hotel. It was quite warm in the room and it got quite noisy in the morning as we had to have the window open.
A breakfast to remember, served like a 3 meal course with extra dessert. Very nice and peaceful morning. The room was very nice and in separate building which made it stand out from an ordinary hotel.

DenmarkThere was no room in the hotel restaurant and we were not informed, when we booked. We were told that a light meal would be sold in a nearby tent, but it was not the case. There were only sandwiches from a food truck. We had to go to Maribo to find something to eat - and were not lucky with the restaurant.
Nice location by the ocean. Good service. Fantastic breakfast.

GermanyCompared to the former Bandholm Hotel it has a cooler atmosphare. Before you felt welcome, here you are only part of the business. There is no more breakfast buffet what I find OK because they had to throw a lot of food away at the end. My Danish wife told me that it is a Danish breakfast you get served now. If you like to eat meat and cheese in the morning it might be ok for you but I am accustomed - in hotels everywhere in the world - that I have a choice what I eat. Here I have to eat what I get served. I did not like it ! Before they had a good coffee mashine where you could get whatever kind of coffee/chocolate you wanted. Now they offer a weak coffee and hot water for a selection of teas. I do not want to talk bad about the hotel. The room is great and you have no alternative in Lolland for a good hotel. But the new manager has definetely to improve the breakfast for the price he demands for the rooms. He might do it when there is more staff and when he can open the restaurant again.
The room was nice and the bathroom had a nice decoration. The bed, the TV, the chairs everything was great. The coffee mashine in the room produced better coffee than you could get for breakfast. It was a quiet situated room in an old historic building.

United KingdomThe corridor serving the bedrooms stank of cooking. The bedroom we had was classified as deluxe. There was zero deluxe about the bedroom. No soap for shower. Shower had no shelves to keep anything. Shower itself was the smallest I have ever seen. Towels must have been 10 years old, wafer thin. Pillow was tiny. The outside areas could have been so much nicer. It is not possible to run a "tab" throughout your stay, everything has to be paid for as one goes along, instead of settling upon departure. This is a massive inconvenience.
Good coffee. Fair breakfast. Plenty of parking.

DenmarkHotel is not living up to 4 stars, it’s rather 2. Old and outdated facilities. No TV in the room, instead we had black wooden board on the wall. No phone to contact reception. Every time there was something we had to go there, and it’s located in another building. No information about WiFi, or anything at the hotel. Uncomfortable beds and pillows.

GermanyWe stayed in the building behind the main house. Our room was dirty even mold on the sheets. It's loud- you can hear everything. Having a terrance is nice but people are always passing through your area to get to theirs. Drinks at bar are overpriced- 40€ for two. Since we got married during our stay- it's the only reason we would to go back to this hotel. Next stay- main building.

Switzerlandour room was in an annex on the ground floor, no view whatsoever. we had booked spontaneously, arriving on a monday afternoon from germany on the ferry to Rodby. on the booking website their excellent restaurant was mentioned and we send a mail to the hotel and asked them ro reserve a table. no answer. when we arrived at the hotel they said that the restaurant was closed, always on sunday and monday !! how could we know. but there were a lot of restaurants in the nearby town, 10 minutes drive. what we found restaurant wise was terrible. in a large hotel they had no food left !! other restaurants would close the kitchen at 20.00 h. the rest was just not worth mentioning. so when booking at the hotel, make sure the restaurant is open. if dinner is as good as breakfast, then it is certainly worth it
nice hotel with very stylish interior design in the lobby, bar and restaurant. very good breakfast (which we could unfortunately not take outside)
