Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really.
Family run hotel in an country house over 500 years old with lots of character. The traditional fireplace in the entrance and the old well in the restaurant are really very nice features; the Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were cosy and clean. Restaurant serves traditional Galician food, highly recommended, a two course menu with water and dessert included for €30. Good value. Breakfast is included with the rooms too.

United KingdomThe beautiful breakfast room is separate from the even more splendid dining room and is a little small. If there are more than ten people in it gets a bit chaotic.
Good fresh fruit and yoghurt along with the usual jamon and cheese.

United StatesNothing.
This is a beautiful quaint former farm property exquisitely converted into a hotel. For us pilgrims, it was a wonderful treat to be pampered in. Decor, room size, temperature comfort, lovely fireplace at entry area. Then we had the staff. The absolute best in our entire 800 kms on El Camino. Carmen was delightful, enthusiastic, beautiful, engaged and so eager to make things not only easy for us but homey, welcome. And we couldn’t say enough about Eduardo. He runs Casa by Brandariz with excellent knowledge and tact. But then, he also has a huge heart. on the morning of our departure there was a torrential rain with lightning, thunder and all. He arranged for our taxi to take us back to the Camino and profusely reassured us that he would be ready to come to our rescue should this be necessary wherever we were. His openness and genuine care for our safety was what made this gentleman the best host that we had in these 38 days walking the Camino. I truly hope to return some day just for R&R.

United KingdomI'd really like not to have to do this bit, and it feels a little odd given the high overall rating of the property - but I pride myself on my honest and balanced reviewing so here goes. There was little guidance as to the norms of the property on arrival, such as where to get a drink etc. The hostess was showing some others around but somehow missed our tour. We did take the opportunity for an evening meal. The starter and dessert were both excellent, although the main course (the only one offered) consisted of a very dry chicken dish. I also think that in a guest house thirty euros per head for the menu, not including any drinks, is a little beyond expectations. The price was not advised in advance. Drinks were reasonable, for the most part, although here comes my biggest gripe. I'm a massive aficionado of Anis. They serve Mono, my favourite brand. During each trip to Spain I tend to buy a bottle or two to take home. This costs me approximately eight or nine euros per bottle. Imagine my shock on finding that my one glass, as seen on the bill, cost me eight euros - the price of a bottle! I understand that mark-ups are needed for a living to be made but for my mind, the offer at Casa Brandariz, although good value in terms of the accommodation, was considerably overpriced in terms of add-ons. Oh, and if you stay, best of luck negotiating the peculiarities of the serve yourself breakfast. The big round cheese is amazing though.
The buildings which comprise this property are stunning. Old and yet beautifully maintained, if a little twee in their presentation in places. Beautiful gardens too. The location is fabulous, with great views over scenic countryside. Our room, which was the one positioned above the entrance patio of the hotel, was fine - spacious enough for the two of us. Good value for money, in terms of a place to stay, but see below. The bathroom was well equipped, although it was not always possible to run hot water in the shower.
