Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Monte Carmelo was perfect for us as we traveled by cat from UK en-route to Morocco to climb a mountain for charity. We arrived with rucksacks and were not typical holidaymakers but despite our appearance we were welcomed like royals. The staff could not have been more helpful.

NetherlandsAt the time of booking, I got a message saying my credit card had been rejected! The hotel then wanted me to make the payment via their website, something I found suspicious because I'd never ever had to do before with Booking.com. Concerned, I then had to call my bank (there was NO issue with my card) and Booking.com to check that I wasn't being scammed. In addition, prior to both my arrival and departure, the hotel sent me messages saying they could arrange transfers for me. However, when I opened the link they sent, I was told there was no availability!!! Yet I WAS able to book transport in both directions via Booking.com's own service.
The hotel is on the "other" side of the river from the main attractions but, given that I was there during Santa Semana, that was a good thing. It was an easy walk to the attractions though. The breakfast was good and the staff in the breakfast room were lovely. I had booked a single room, but was pleasantly surprised by the size. It was also really quiet.

PortugalWe always felt too warm at night and had trouble sleeping, even with air conditioning running.. perhaps the air conditioner was not performing well. We did not complain because our stay was too short to bother, I am sure they would have helped us with this. There was also a lot of light from the street side at night, from public street lights, which leaked through the sides of the curtains considerably.
We stayed only for 2 nights but really enjoyed it. The room was very well kept, it felt new and impeccably clean. Comfortable beds and multiple choices of pillows available on request. The TV was huge and modern, with smart features like streaming from my phone. Bathroom was big and bright, with a spacious walk-in shower cabin. The room included complimentary slippers, which were quite welcome since I forgot mine at home. The breakfast experience was incredible and totally blew my mind, because besides the typical "continental" options you find everywhere, they had delicious salted fish cuts (tuna, cod, salmon and sardine), guacamole, hummus, corn bread, and other fresh ingredients... I had never tried such things for breakfast and absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly, polite and well presented.

Location was great. About 10 to 15 min walk to main centre. Hotel is close to bar, restaurants and shops. Fabulous place for breakfast near the hotel is Jesters, yoghurt bowls, bagels, etc. Hotel is modern and clean. Large bathrooms, toiletries supplied. Very reasonable considering prices of hotel nearer the centre

BelgiumThe heating/airconditioning system is older, so they can only heat or cool the whole building at once. You cannot choose to cool if the general system is still set to heating. We were here at the end of March and the heating was still on. The staff told us they can provide a ventilator which we appreciate but is different that having a cool room. We were lucky enough to have a room with a window in the bathroom so we could open both windows and cool our room in the evening. If you stay here during the summer this will not be an issue.
Nice hotel a bit outside the city centre. (15 minute walk) Clean rooms, good beds, television had a Chromecast which is always a nice extra. We ate breakfast close to the hotel as you have lots of good cafés around. Lovely neighbourhood with lots of locals.

CanadaI did not have breakfast there because I considered it way too expensive. There are tons of breakfast places arund the hotel where you can eat well, have a lovely coffee and pay half of the price.
The hotel is very well located, in the heart of Sevilla, making everything accessible by foot. The staff is nice and welcoming. I appreciated having a small coffee machine and few coffee pods & milk available in the room.

United KingdomA/C wasn't available but was not an issue. Two windows used to open to let air in
The hotel is in a great location. 15 minutes walk to the city centre and the cathedral etc. The room was spacious enough for myself. Room 409. The bathroom again big enough for me. Lovely shower and nearly laid out. Breakfast was ideal to start off the day with plenty of choice. The quality was very good and food was replenished as soon as it needed to be. My room was cleaned daily and if requested the bed linen would be changed daily as well. The staff at reception and in the breakfast room were very welcoming and very helpful. There are some great eating places near the hotel. I would recommend going to Bar La Maceta. Superb food. Used by local people. Great service and atmosphere. Also go to Restaurant La Montera. Again great quality food with excellent service. Used by the local people. Thoroughly enjoyed both places. Some quaint small bars nearby too to have a quiet beer.

AustriaEverything you would expect from a good four-star hotel. For me, everything was perfect: the staff, breakfast, bed, pillows, shower, towels… You’ll need some experience, a small car, and a bit of luck to park in the hotel’s parking lot. But most hotels in the center of Seville don’t have parking at all. The hotel’s location is convenient. The city center is within walking distance, yet the area itself is pleasant and quiet, away from the main tourist crowds. Visit Plaza de España on your first evening (make sure to go in the evening first to feel the full magic of the place) and enjoy Seville!

United KingdomThe heating/air conditioning system was intermittent or didn't work at all. I had to call down to reception a couple of times for them to reset it.
My room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The location was within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to visit and there were plenty of restaurants and places to eat in the area. I had breakfast at the hotel twice, there was plenty of variety and the food was fresh and tasty.
