Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe were a little disappointed in the beach been washed away outside of our hut as the photo's looked like a beautiful white sandy beach but everything else was so amazing we soon got over that and swam where the boats came in.
We cried when we left as the staff made us feel so welcome and part of their family. Loved the Resort friendly dogs, the food was amazing and nothing was a problem, making me delicious gluten free options fresh every morning. we loved visiting the village and the children coming to sing us on the Sunday. Anna the massage lady was also a treat and the snorkelling just a small boat ride away the coral was wonderful and colourful.

United StatesPersonal attention and care of amazing staff from the point you get off the boat to the point you leave the resort. Boutique resort with only a few guests at any point. We actually were even alone on the resort for a couple of nights which felt special. Facing calm waters even during sea storms, beautiful reefs within minutes of a boat ride. Very nice burres with panoramic glass doors which we kept open to allow the breeze during the day. Fine cuisine with local ingredients and freshly caught fish.

GermanyWe found the prices for food and drinks too expensive, but you get good quality for it.
Great resort with very friendly staff, beautiful room and a stunning ocean scenery. We loved our trip with the kayak to visit other islands and the swim to the neighbour island. The food and cocktails were also extremely delicious!

I have never stayed anywhere before that offers such a wonderful welcome and you really feel like you are being looked after by family. True Fijian hospitality. Beachfront Bure was perfect overlooking the ocean. You feel so relaxed as soon as you arrive. Paddle boards and kayaks are free to use and lots of excursions available. If you are lucky Dolly the resident dog may join you on your paddle board. Good vegetarian options available too.

AustriaBreakfast and lunch were great, dinner was not as good as expected.
The amazing location, very friendly and personal approach of the staff and the very comfortable and stylish decorated apartment. The welcome and farewell songs were the icing on the cake and really enjoyed the trip to the Blue Lagoon and positively surprised to have a massage included. Also liked being picked-up by small boat from the ferry.

United KingdomAlthough we had a basic and adequately stocked mini bar, the room lacked tea and coffee making facilities of any kind. This necessitated walking to the main building just to get a morning coffee. Our villa showed signs of age, with an old style fridge and a tap missing from the inset bath. The building next to our villa looked abandoned and was shut up. The decking of our villa showed signs of age and the roof was missing most of the decorative straw leaves. While this 'unmaintained character' adds to the charm, at times it feels like the owners have not invested in the resorts upkeep.
Best features are the beach, location and the friendly, professional and attentive staff. The food was very well prepared and presented. The resort has a classy elegance with a chilled vibe. Beach equipment was there to be used, or not as you wanted. Our 2 bedroom, beach front villa (bure), could be accessed by the beach or via a footpath, and had bags of character, with tall ceilings, exposed wooden rafters, and white concrete floors, seating areas and steps. While it showed signs of wear, and lacked some of the modern trappings we now expect in luxury resorts, such as a coffee maker, not having these added to the ambiance. I highly recommend Navutu Stars Resort as a place to relax and unwind, knowing you'll be well taken care of.

Thankyou (Vanaka!) a wonderful location with all the adventure of an island retreat with an authentic atmosphere serving up a varied menu with deliciously prepared meals. You will meet the most friendly staff who will welcome you as family. Comfortable and huge bedroom hut with big comfy bed, own garden and sun loungers & hammock to relax in. With a variety of activities ( 2 per day) to choose from, such as snorkelling with sea horses, village visit, fishing trips, hiking, and other cultural weekly events such as Kava ceremonies. Or you can sit on the beach bed and relax and listen to the sound of the water lapping. The bar is open all day with a great choice of cocktails. Nothing too much trouble if you ask the staff for anything. We had the comfort of spacious and well appointed accommodation with the charm of an island village whilst we enjoyed meeting all sorts of nationalities of all ages over a pre dinner cocktail or after dinner. We only donned our sandals on the odd occasion but spent the week moving around in bare feet and bathers. You can be as active or relaxed as you like , social or isolated as you choose. Did I mention the complementary massage? If you want an earthy but comfortable whilst authentic experience for your holiday, and wish to enjoy the freedoms of choosing activities or not! with wonderful staff along with views of the most colourful aqua waters whilst being in a part of the world which honours tradition and wears the largest smiles then this is the most perfect location for you! If you want a standard hotel room with block outs which shield you from the natural ebb and flows of island life then think again!! This place is heaven and will leave you wanting more.

AustraliaBeing charged $11 FJD for a 1L bottle of water seemed exceptionally greedy when an island further north was charging a much more reasonable $5 FJD. Either that or a 500ml bottle for $6 FJD - yikes! There is no other option than to drink the bottled water so you have no choice but to spend extortionate amounts. Most of the staff were exceptionally friendly throughout our stay but on our second night it was a different story. A few staff members seemed really miserable and much less friendly. Put a bit of a dampener on the stay. Finally, and perhaps the issue I had the most problem with, was how they price their meals. On the first night there was a vegetarian option on the 'main' menu, so my partner and I chose that. A beautiful pasta dish costing $51 FJD each. On the second night there was no vegetarian option on the 'main' menu. When querying this, a lady told us there was a whole separate vegetarian menu, one with around a dozen options. All of the vegetarian options were much cheaper, at about $38 FJD per meal... which included the same meal we had on the first night that cost $13 more. I thought this might be a mistake but no, when the bill came, I had been charged a different amount for the SAME meal. When I queried it the lady gave some bizarre reason a long the lines of "different menus, different prices"... When I told her I wasn't given the option of looking at the vegetarian menu, she apologized but I was still charged $51.00 and $38.00 for the same exact meal. Absolutely baffled, and still really unhappy about it. It seems completely unethical to be charged $13 extra for the SAME. EXACT. MEAL.
Beautiful island. Incredible accomodation. Room was cool, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Chairs and hammock out the front of our burre so we could relax in comfort with a great view. Breakfast was basic but tasty. Lunch and dinner was EXCEPTIONAL. Hats off to the chefs who produce some outstanding meals. The four dogs on the island were so sweet and friendly. They are obviously very well looked after and loved unlike other dogs we have seen in Fiji who, sadly, do not have the same beautiful life.
