Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KazakhstanIf you are specific about your breakfasts, make sure you know what you're getting. For me the options were rather limited, considering it was a five nights stay. There were no fresh fruits or vegetables, cheese or eggs, for example. And since I don't eat musli or yogurts for breakfast, I was constrained to croissants with butter/jam and juice/green tea. I usually don't drink caffeine, so I had to get some peppermint tea and lemons for my tea from a local shop.
The location is amazing, it is right next to the pink metro line (Line 7) and several bus stops in different directions. The old hotel building makes you feel you are in Paris. Since most of the time I spent outside the hotel, it's a very good value for money, all things considered.

SwitzerlandThe room was pretty small. The hotel has a long list of restrictive rules the guest has to strictly adhere to. One of them was, for example, the obligation to leave the hotel keys at the reception even when leaving the hotel for a short time. Not that is bothers one too much, but i've personally never seen something like this before.
The location of this hotel is just fantastic, right next to the subway station, with a lot of touristic places in a walking distance. The room and the shared spaces were clean, it was alright. Good value for money, in my opinion. The staff was friendly.

United StatesThere is only one toilette and bathroom on the floor, not sure how many share that but it was busy with a fully booked hotel and therefore probably not as perfectly clean and available - highly recommend bringing your own hygienic products to wipe it all down (or maybe the hotel could place some?). I opted out of the shower because getting a decent shower with the tokens would have resembled booking a room with a private bathroom - so make sure to calculate that in when you book. Fine for just a night. Everything else was fine. It's a 1-star accommodation and a good one at that. Definitely recommend if traveling on a budget but looking for adequate accommodation in a nice part of Paris.
The hotel is simple but very clean, the bed was comfortable and despite the walls being quite thin indeed, I had a quiet night in a comfortable bed. The shared bathroom and toilet weren't a problem for me since I was just staying a night. If staying longer, I would recommend getting your own bathroom. Breakfast was as simple but not bad, I have definitely had worse at many more expensive locations. The staff was friendly, particularly appreciated the concierge who booked me in for speaking French very slowly with me - comes off a bit odd but helped me have a good stay.

PolandThe hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and fluent in English. There was no problem in purchasing the breakfast ad hoc. The proximity of a metro station is a huge advantage.

AustraliaWindows have to be open otherwise it is hot, but it’s a noisy street. Floor creaks and doors are loud so can’t really go to toilet or shower without waking other person.

GreeceOur stay at the hotel was excellent. The room was warm every day, the bathroom always had hot water, and fresh clean towels were provided daily. The location was very convenient, close to buses and the metro. There were also supermarkets, bakeries, and places to eat or have coffee nearby. Despite being on a main road, it was quiet. I would definitely choose it again!

NetherlandsVery pleasant hotel. For Parisian standards - where hotels are expensive and rooms are usually small and noisy - this is a very good place to stay. We had a nice and clean room, not big but comfortable. So yes, positive.

United StatesThe bed was a little bit hard, but it is a hotel. The bathroom, if you pay for a private, is TINY. I got used to it after a day or so, but I couldn't even stand in it with the sliding door shut, my butt would stick out while I was at the sink. Just a little note to anyone who may not be a tiny person, or who is not travelling with their SO. I was with my sister, so it wasn't so bad, but getting out of the shower was kind of hilarious. I would like do a little dance to get out, jump out into the room, then dry off in the room.
The location was very good, only a few minutes away from both the bus and the metro. It was very easy to get around, and even better, the food nearby was incredible. I would recommend staying here, and if you do, there is a patisserie across the street, Boulangerie Rainette, do not go to any other one in the area, trust me! This is the one. I tried every single one, and this one has the best pastries. Their croissants are buttery, soft, and crispy. There are also a lot of restaurants in the area that are fantastic as well. The view from our room was quite fabulous, as a little bonus. The room was clean, our sheets and towels were spotless, and the bathroom was clean. Also, the staff was incredibly friendly. We had absolutely no issues on our trip.

FranceI would have preferred to have more control over the temperature. The heating was on all night which always gives me a sore throat. It was at least possible to open the large window in the room but sleeping with a radiator on can be challenging.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was nicely decorated with a nice terrace/breakfast area. The location was very close to an excellent metro line and the Rue Monge area which is very nice. The hotel was very accommodating of needs, offering hair dryers etc for the room. Despite being a shared toilet/shower, the facilities were very clean and private and I didn't miss having a private one in the room at all. It was also very handy to have a staff member on reception 24/7 as I arrived late in the evening for check in.

Czech RepublicWe booked the room without a bathroom. There is a WC on each floor but the bathroom is only on the 2nd and 6th floor which we found a bit inconvenient. Also, it was a bit disturbing when the cleaners started their job around 7am every day. It’s an old boutique hotel where you can hear everything. So imagine the constant door slamming and the vacuum cleaner when you try to sleep.
The hotel is well located and very clean. Even the shared bathroom. There is a metro station nearby or you can reach most of the city's highlights by walking. Good for value.
