Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe made a mistake of not hiring a car. It’s a little too far out of town to not have a car but in an ideal setting.
Loved the room and furniture. The staff were wonderful.

United KingdomThe hotel can’t really be to blame for either of my negatives but it did impact our stay:- You can hire bikes from the hotel but the cycle lanes are erratic, to say the least, and the main roads were super busy. It was pretty scary at times! The other negative was the taxi fare which was Euros75 each way from the airport and the journey was 15-20mins tops. Eye wateringly expensive! I did book a meal out and ordered an Uber but the ride was never accepted through their app apparently they don’t like to come outside of Nice! I had to cancel my restaurant booking with no means to get there! Be warned especially if you have paid a deposit to reserve!
The room was fab with great interiors and we had our own private outdoor space. Being so small there was rarely anyone round either of the two pools. The food at lunch and dinner was excellent and the hotel have some great staff. We loved the laid back luxe vibe of this small elegant hotel it suited us to a T

United KingdomLocation is not ideal. While you can walk to St Paul de Vence, it’s a very steep unlit walk up a hill via a road (no walkways). You really need to Uber. So not ideal if you don’t have a car.
This property was a dream to stay in. Romantic setting, stunning pool, luxury amenities and world class restaurant. All the staff were delightful and we can’t recommend enough.

Beautiful estate, very well taken care off. You feel like you’re in a private villa. 2 pools means you never have too many people to share with. There is a delicious restaurant on the grounds for breakfast and dinner and another for lunch. Great concept, family-owned and managed.

United KingdomThis place is very special - it has a refined but laidback atmosphere that instantly makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The property is incredibly beautiful and every detail has been considered with the upmost care and attention. Everything in the rooms is very high quality and designed impeccably, our suite was very spacious, with a huge terrace and lots of different areas to sit and relax in private - bliss. There are two pools and lots of different places to relax, as well as lush gardens and sculptures from exhibiting artists to be enjoyed. The food served from breakfast through to lunch and dinner is all worthy of it’s own review - declious flavours, imaginative dishes and the freshest locally sourced ingredients. A special thank you to Caroline - a gracious hostess who is passionate about creating wonderful memories for guests. Carefree summer days at their best!

United StatesNothing bad about it!
Absolutely beautiful property with several small buildings spread over about 3 or 4 acres. The landscaping is quintessential Provence with grape vines, lavender, olive trees, etc. There are two separate pools and a dining terrace overlooking the hills with a view of Saint-Paul de Vence. The suites are huge with beautiful high end decor. It’s like you’ve stepped into a movie.

United KingdomNothing. It is a gem.
This is a unique hotel in a very positive way where you are personally looked after. All meals were individually cooked and prepared with excellent local ingredients. Our suite was a haven from the world with every comfort and it was carefully designed, decorated and furnished by the artistic owners.

United KingdomIt was mostly perfect - very small feedback would be that the patio door can't be closed from outside so if you go out, you risk mosquitos coming in.
Our room was beautiful - very spacious with a wonderful outdoor area. We thought all the details not only looked great but were well thought out to make life super easy. We appreciated the very good clothes steamer that was already in the room!

United KingdomBreakfast was extra on top of quite pricey room cost. Had to give advance notice and not the best selection and a little on the sparse side. Had to ask for extra jam, butter etc daily. A menu of different options would have been appreciated, eg eggs Benedict, salmon & scrambled eggs for the €26 cost.
Amazingly beautiful and calm place Lovely terrace restaurant and views Room very spacious, although there was some confusion over the description of a ‘suite’ given on the website, it did not detract from the very comfortable room. The management we’re going to clarify this.
