This was a great apartment, a good size, comfortable and a nice outdoor area. It had everything we needed and was very dog friendly. It was a good place to stay and would definitely recommend it.

Fabulous ground floor apartment. Everything you would need. Lovely decor with quirky features. Covered outdoor area was perfect place to sit and relax. Apartment was clean and fresh.

Clean, easily accessible. Enclosed area for the dog but able to socialise in the bigger secure area. Staff friendly and helpful. So good we stayed for an extra night. Loved the cafe next door, everyone talking and discussing topics, true community.

Fabulous apartments in a lovely location. Free parking in front of the apartments.. A one stop shop opposite. Spacious and comfortable rooms. So many beautiful places to visit.

Felt like we had our very little own home in the Beautiful countryside of Wark. It was a fantastic base to use for going on beautiful drives, visiting kielder etc during the day and to see the dark sky of stars above us at night!we stayed in housesteads apt here that had an private terrace area . Also they have a very romantic electric fireplace which really creates a fantastic ambience. The apartments are also right opposite the only convenience store in town and next to a cafe 1897 which had fantastic breakfast food and only a 5min walk or less to Battlestead hotel for dinner at night as well as to catch the observatory show there . Apartments at the Black are definitely going to be a repeat for us !

Unfortunately the oven took twice as long to cook something, obviously not a major issue!

There was absolutely nothing negative.

The whole trip was made complete with the great accommodation. The contact with the owners was really good. Will be looking to use this accommodation again when I'm in the area, if it's available.

Liked it all - except the constant rain!

It was clean and modern with plenty of space and a very convenient enclosed outdoor area for our dogs . In the summer it would have been even better and we would have used the shared outside hut too. Also the shop directly opposite is so handy and sells delicious pies from the butchers. Tony was very friendly , so any questions or problems help is at hand!

The only thing if I had to say something was that there was no information booklet that we could findin our hadrian suite , but there was in the other apartments so just looked thru them, :)

Everything was just lovely, good communication and even though we got snow then a power cut we were kept well informed of what was going on by tony, he even lit the fires for us, overall, great stay to celebrate 2 special family birthdays 🎂

Only thing would've been finishing touches - we had to buy additional toilet roll as there was only one roll in the flat. There was also just one tea towel which didn't dry anything and there was no draining board. Didn't detract from a 5 star stay! Thank you.

Lovely, spacious apartment with everything you could need in the way of holiday accomodation. Ideal location for walks from the doorstep cdow. to the river and across the fells, plus near to the wall, Corbridge, Hexham and Bellingham. Great friendly convenience shop right opposite Good rivate arkong too. Comfortable beds, lovely outside space and attractive entrance.Check out the local Institute as we went to a cracking one man comedy cooking show and were made welcome. use

Property was lovely, well equipped, lovely outdoor space. The log burning fire and fire in bedroom were a great touch. Bed was really comfortable. Lovely walks and dog friendly bar/restaurant within walking distance. Staff were very friendly.

We stayed here as only a 10min drive to Hadrians Wall and away from crowds. Lovely apartment, kitchen well equiped and rooms very comfortable. Felt safe as apartment location at the back in a courtyard. Small convenience store across the road for basics.

There was nothing not to like but a small table lamp in kitchen/living/dining area would have been nice for light instead of having to use either kitchen/living room lights (rather bright).

The apartments are in a lovely location & near to Kielder Water & Forest park. Our apartment (2 bed Carrawburgh Suite) had spacious bedrooms with comfy beds. Nice courtyard to use privately - from main bedroom. Every area of apt was very clean, lovely bathroom with a great shower, kitchen had plenty of crockery/utensils/pans etc. Nice little extras left for our arrival. Car parking space outside the apartments - off the street.

We thought the accomodation was lovely and spacious and it was nice to have an outside covered seating area. Great location for the National Park and Hadrians Wall and only an hour from the coast. Wark, though only small also had good facilities - general store, pubs and ev charging point which was a bonus. Also nice to visit the Battlestead observatory in the village.

Rooms were well presented and immaculate. Alex was super helpful, especially when my husband left his phone and wallet in the local pub. 😜Managing to retrieve it for our return to the apartment later that day. Fully intend returning and trying a ground floor apartment next time. Definitely recommend the place as it’s lovely and so are the owners.
