How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast as I was gluten free was non existent to what I would have been able to eat. Zoe was so apologetic and I wasn't expecting breakfast in the cost it made my stay. The evening meals were very good

Very noisy room some sort of generator running most of night. Only received 1 breakfast first morning and both mornings the fruit on the breakfast was mouldy.
Staff were very friendly and helpful a real asset to the place. Food was nice and atmosphere in the pub was relaxing.

A very noisy room I think it was fridges switching on and off. But once asleep it didn’t disturb The stai entrance could do with a good clean. There must be a lot of foot fall so can appreciate it would be difficult. I had dinner in the restaurant I follow a plant based diet and some creativity with this option wouldn’t go amiss🙏
I didn’t get the breakfast because I left at just after 7am. But that’s fine as I don’t normally eat in the morning. It would great if plant based milk were an option.

The electrical motor attached to the gable wall constantly running and vibrating at a disturbing level; the outside refrigeration unit that was louder and kicked in throughout the night. Received a continental breakfast(which was great) on first night but nothing on second. Bed was 2 singles pushed together - fairly sure had a mattress topper on first night but then only a sheet on the second. Beds had also been moved to a different wall (possibly because of motor noise?), but tv then to the side of beds.
The staff were brilliant and the food in the restaurant was very good Well sized room

the extractor fans buzzing all night the shower wasnt very clean the windows could do with closing properly as they blew cold air through the gaps (when closed) and hand rail on both side of stairs

The sink is the shower room was tiny and kept splashing over the floor.
A plate of juice, biscuits and 3 small croissants and jam, left outside overnight. OK.

Room 5 was on the small size and the carpets have seen better days

Room is looking pretty dated / tired. Could do with a cosmetic refresh e.g. fresh paint / carpet etc.

First night a cooler in the cellar kept us awake. The manger turn it off for us and we had a better second night. Walks are quite thin and hear next door bathroom fan & TV and the bed wasn't amazing.
Good spacious room and good size bathroom and shower. Tea & coffee provided in the room & a full English breakfast.

The rooms are quite small and bathroom had a strange smell but we were only there for one night so it was fine.
Well-located for Ashby town centre. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Great value with breakfast included.

The staff were absolutely brilliant. Not only really friendly but extremely helpful and proactively swapped our twin room when they realised a double was more appropriate. The food was really delicious. We had a number of starters/light bites before heading out as well as breakfast and all was yummy. They even accommodated my adult son’s strange request to have 4 fried eggs on toast for breakfast bless them.

Shower cubicle was very small and room not thoroughly cleaned but beds comfortable and room was quiet.
