How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I should have asked, but I was put on the 2nd floor which was a bit difficult for me to carry my case up to. Next time I would request a ground floor or a 1st floor room. Everything else was great.
Very clean and comfortable room with lots of space and a very good size en suite. Nice bright decor and plenty of storage. Good choice of tea and coffee in the room and a good selection of breakfast items available in the kitchen. Good transport connections with local buses taking you straight to the train stations and airport.

This self check-in/ check-out hotel is situated in Castle Donington, about a 5-10 minute drive from Eaat Mids Airport and Donington Rsce Circuit. The room we had was spotless, we had access to a shared kitchen where there is plenty of choice for a self-serve continental-style breakfast. There are no staff on site, but communication between the managers & I was excellent. I'm certain that if we had experienced any problems while at Bondgate, getting in touch wouldn't have been an issue We were given contact details, and lots more info, via WhatsApp in readiness for our arrival. Ideal for a stopover!

Room 7 window sill was very sticky, everything else was good. The front and back doors where sticking on the top right corner so would not open, couldn’t get into the front at all and had to try a few times at the back before getting in.

Unfortunately, the bed was too short & my partner's feet hung over the foot of the bed. He is 5'11" tall. The bed consisted of 2 single mattresses, and were not comfortable to sleep on because they were a bit "lumpy"
The professional & friendly service. The owners were great communicators & kindly extended our check-out time, which was very much appreciated. Lucy the housekeeper was very friendly and went out of her way to help us book a taxi. The hotel was very clean. The free help yourself kitchen was a Godsend, especially when our arrival time was late evening. Thank you for a great stay & highly recommend this hotel!

Nothing to dislike i was very pleased with my stay
It was very cozy, bed was comfy facility was clean. There was a glitch on the booking.com site but the staff were very helpful and accomodated with no issues, excellent customer service will be booking again

Honestly can't fault Bondgate Hotel at all. Everything was to a very good standard and we enjoyed our overnight stay.
The room was lovely, spacious and clean. Plenty of storage space and room to move. A nicely modern bathroom and a good shower. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable, we both had a great night's sleep. There was good parking right outside and very secure. There's no reception at the property but the hosts, Julie and Steve, were very helpful with instructions on door codes, information about the facilities etc.

Parking was a bit tight round the back and difficult to navigate.
The hotel was really easy to check yourself into and the room was a great size. Very clean and the bed was comfy with everything you could need in your room provided for you. There was a wide selection of breakfast items provided in the communal kitchen which was really lovely and free parking. Location was good just a short distance to nice pubs and local shops.
