Poorly maintained and managed facilities. Many children’s entertainment options were not open or available over the 5 days we were there. The chalet interior was fine, but not clean. The cash machines were not working across the whole site over two days, and many entertainment options needed cash payment, not card.

The blue coat entertainers were amazing, and put in well over a hundred percent to make the stay special and loads of fun for all the kids. They were the stand out highlight of the staff. The location, a few minutes walk to a wonderful beach was also fantastic. The cost of the accommodation was very reasonable.

It was a nightmare. You would keep animals like this. Booking.com also couldn't care less. We left after one night. No refund for experiencing the worst night ever

The place was filthy. Pee and poo on floor and walls. Old food on plates, flat door wouldn't lock, noisy, police outside half the night which left the kids traumatised. All furniture dirty and broken. Beds nasty. I could go on for ever. Staff unfriendly and couldn't care less. All attractions broken and dangerous. Met people who got ill after eating there Never ever again

Hello, I wanted to book a lovely weekend away for me my friend and her daughter.. we heard camber Sands was beautiful so we looked on booking.com and saw pontins. We booked Friday - Monday and was charged £250 for 2 adults and 1 child baring in mine the child is free. As arrived we were shocked in how no one new our booking and the quality of service. After speaking to most people in the que when checking in the majority of people were charged under £100 some people paying even £30 for 5 people! I am very upset in how much I paid and the quality of the arrival. Paying £250 for 3 nights when some people are paying less than a third of the price I am not happy. Also on arrival the customer service more than lacked due to the lack of advice on how to check in early, which we already called in advance to do and were refused on entrance. The lack of customer service was unfortunate. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

How close it was to the beach

We booked through Booking .com. for Friday for my wife and myself on 21st July to Sunday 23rd 2023, at £180. When we arrived and filled in the paperwork, there was no trace of our booking. Despite checking through all those expected on the Friday, there was nothing. We were redirected from the tented area to reception. The staff checked with Booking.com, and Booking.com had no booking for us for the 21st to 23rd, but eventually found us booked for Wednesday 26th for 1 night only, although taking monies for several days. We had the booking and dates confirmed on email on my phone. After approx 2 hours of walking backwards and forwards between tented area and reception, we were offered upstairs or downstairs in block 54. I told them that we put on the form that my wife was disabled, so they gave us a downstairs accommodation. Thinking that we eventually had everything sorted, we then went to our No 543 chalet. We unpacked and decided to have something to eat. To our suprise, we had approx a dozen ants in the kitchen, by the food and sink draining board area running amock. Thinking it was a one-off, I decided to clear them. Despite clearing them, others kept reappearing. (I did phone and complain) I have videos if required of the ants. I put on the form that my wife was disabled, but there was nothing in the chalet to assist a disabled person. The step into the chalet was too high for my wife, and we eventually managed to get her in and out with much assistance. We then found the shower door, wouldn't close, and the step into it was too high and dangerously sharp for my wife, who is disabled. Therefore, she could not use it. The shower fixing to hold the shower head was broken. We could not turn the TV sound up or down, but not really too much of a problem. The windows were really dirty, and the paintwork was flaking both inside and outside of the building. There was a hole, approx 10 inches deep outside.

    Toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave, utensils.

The facilities were difficult to access for a disabled person as many areas were by stair access and the swimming pool locked everyone in which put us off completely! Having a ton of luggage didn't help. We brought our own sheets and I am glad that we did. The ones provided were damp with spots of mold. The cracked light switch on the bathroom took 4 days to fix as "the electrician is only here on one day a week."

There were other activities around the camp and we all had a good time. We were in a good position as a disabled person the steps up to the chalet area and again into the property was a bit of a struggle but no worse than the average curb. Food options were self catering or half board. With a small takeaway on site as many surrounding shops closed very early and outside camp was deadly quite after 7pm

The holiday camp site is so run down Our chalet was a disgrace beds so dirty and uncomfy toilet not fixed right, ceilling had so many patches you would not know what was original.Did take video of the chalet and outside but i am not able to upload on this website only lets photo. You couldnt close the toilet door. We went to the entertainment stayed 1 hour as it felt volatile, security looked like riot police apart from wearing riot helmets. So must have a lot of issues happening. I did not post this striaght away as i thought a bit of time would soften the write up

The exciting bit about Pontins was leaving we arranged 4 nights but stayed 2

Damp wall behind the head of the bed in the kids' bedroom. One child's pillow was damp in the morning. Also black mould visible on wall. Apartment had not been cleaned before our arrival. Sheets on bed were 100% synthetic, and very slippery and uncomfortable. Youngest child got stuck in the bedroom because of faulty door. Bathroom door would not lock or even close properly. No shower in bathroom, and no plug in bath rendering washing impossible. Overall, facilities (not just in apartment, but also the surroundings) were dirty and poorly maintained.

    The entertainment was good

Pontins are completely missing a trick in not having a place to buy a coffee and snack on-site. You can get something from the Nisa supermarket at the entrance, but a cafe hut with sandwiches and cake would’ve minted them a fortune and improved everyone’s experience. We tried the hot buffet breakfast the second day. Hmm.

My expectations were on the floor as we arrived. If I’d have read the TripAdviser reviews there is no way I would have booked, even though we were attending a two day event on site. When we arrived it seemed … fine. Actually, more than fine. We were helped by great weather, but my 10yr old and I were really pleased to have stayed there. A good atmosphere, plenty of grass and benches to hang around on in the sun between sessions (the two day event). A stones throw from a fabulous fabulous beach. The room was clean. It was very spacious. It was all so good that we cancelled our plans to eat in Rye on Saturday and instead hung out with other families who we knew through the event on-site.
