Excellent location and very comfortable bed. We only stayed one night and really did nothing more than sleep at the hotel so it is difficult to rate facilities that we didn’t use but all that we did see was excellent. The host Steve was very friendly and helpful and we were impressed with how quiet it was for a Saturday night .

Chapter 1 had the wow factor. The attention to detail was outstanding. Very classy, elegant and very comfortable. It is in a prime location., on the Main Street facing the sea. Our room was to the side so was very quiet, which we loved. Had a great night sleep. Service was second to none.

This is an absolute gem of a find. The hotel is beautifully decorated, welcoming, charming, clean and comfortable. Fabulous location and Steve the owner is first rate. Breakfast absolutely excellent - just overall a great stay and experience. I will go back here.

Perfect location close to everything including the sea. Nice breakfast, and most importantly, the hotel manager was very helpful when I made an error on my booking and offered advice on where to visit. A lot of thought has gone into the property and it has a literary theme. Definitely coming back here.

The shower was slightly small

My room was at the rear of the property looking out to a side alley. At the end of the alley across the road is a bar that open until 2am every night so on a Saturday night the noise was very loud and would disturb a light sleeper.

Absolutely nothing to dislike!

From the initial booking & throughout the stay, everything was as expected & beyond. Steve, greeted us at the door, took our cases up to the room, then told us the story of how Chapter 1 came into being. We only booked an overnight stay, to catch a coach early next morning, so booked room only. We were in ‘The 39 Steps’ no view so expected basic, how wrong could we be? The room was beautifully decorated & extremely comfortable. The library/ breakfast room is delightful, full of artefact’s & the walls look like the most beautiful library. We will definitely be staying again & definitely for longer.

This boutique hotel was fantastic. From when you entered the front door, Steve made you feel so welcome, even sending a personal text in the morning of our stay with arrival details. The decor has been so cleverly thought out and the rooms were very comfortable. It was a real pleasure to stay there and we would love to return one day.

Noise from outside. Weymouth was a busy beach town and bar was outside our window. Room was small and hard to navigate around for two people. No lift available for luggage.

We arrived to great customer service and a very clean room and bath. I appreciated the self serve coffee in the morning, outlets by the bed and a mirror on the closet door for makeup and hair. The bathroom was well designed with comfortable towels and shampoo and soap. Bed was comfortable, especially with AC available. Location was across the street from the beach.

The Wetherspoons pub next door was so loud, it was hard to get to sleep. Breakfast was a little disappointing even for a continental style.

The period building was lovely and homely very relaxing with sea view from oyr room and at breakfast Breakfast was 5 star and all the prouduce/pastries were freshly baked & fresh (lovely pot if tea) :0) Thank you

Shame the bathroom was a bit on the pokey side, especially the sink being very small. No choice of hot breakfast (apart from porridge). Traffic (road sweeping trucks, buses, and motorbikes) and late night/early morning drunks made getting a good night's sleep tricky, even though earplugs were provided, I personally don't like sleeping with them in my ears.

The welcome from Steve was friendly, the decor and furnishings were great, as was the sea view from the 1st floor front bedroom. The continental breakfast was lovely.
